Doing what is right is not easy for us to do. We need the power of God to do the good that God wants us to do. Our flesh always walks against what is the purpose of God for our lives.
The power of sin is stronger than we can fight by our efforts. We cannot fight sin by our own power. So, it is not going to be easy to stop ourselves from doing what is bad. Our flesh takes pleasure in sin. Sin is pleasurable to our flesh.
To overcome the power of the flesh, we need to yield to the Word of God. The word of God alone can renew our minds and make us live our lives to please God. We should not think that we can overcome evil by ourselves. When we study the Word of God and allow it to rule our hearts and minds, we will be able to subdue the desires of the flesh and then do the will of God.
The Holy Spirit of God can help us our will of the flesh. The Lord Jesus Christ gave us the Holy Spirit so that it will empower us to overcome the flesh. We need to listen to the Holy Spirit always and allow Him to guide our minds so that we can do what is right. The Holy Spirit alone can lead us in the right way.
