Religion is an act of worship. It is an act of worship offered to a deity.
Religion is needed. Why we need religion is because we need God. There won't be any better way of getting to God without religion. We need God because we belong to God. We were of God from the very beginning but sin separated us from God. To get reconnected to God we need religion. Through religion we will be redirected back to God.
John 4:22-24 (KJV) Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Some religions are false and fake. There is a true religion. The true religion is the church of God which is in the Bible. We cannot get to the true God without following through the way which Jesus Christ created. Jesus Christ is the true way to God. He taught us religion and that is the true religion.
1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
In the true religion, we worship God in spirit and in truth. We worship God in truth. We do not worship creatures or objects. The God that we worship is not in the form of anything. He is the Creator of everything that exists. In the church of God, the Bible has taught us how we should behave ourselves as members of the church of God.
