God is not far from us. God has never gone far from us. God is everywhere. One of His attributes is that He is omnipresent. That means that He is everywhere at all times. There is no time that He is absent at a particular place. He is always present everywhere at every time.
The feeling of God not being available has bedeviled many people. Some people even assume that it is senseless to talk about the existence of God. To them there is nothing that looks like God. They have no feeling of his presence. They have nothing that makes them believe that God is there. But, really God is there.

God is everywhere but we can't see Him of feel His presence because the road we are walking is very far away from God.
When men take the road of sin, God will not be seen on such paths. When men refuse to obey the commandments of God, God will not be seen with them. Anytime we live our lives against God's will, we are treading on a path that is far away from God.
