It's a dreary Wednesday morning down here so we might spend the day indoors. Or we might get out of town a day early, but we will see. The weather can be very unpredictable and who knows the sun will show up in an hour or so. Of course, being obsessed with a warmer atmosphere, it would be awesome if it does :)
Anyway, before anything else arises and snaps me away from the screen, let me show some cool artwork we captured along the street not so far from here. I was reminded particularly of the fireman mural when the hubby read the news loudly about the houses in Campo Filipino (Baguio) that were burnt to the ground yesterday.
I thought the mural was a creative (and probably effective) way of disseminating information about the town's fire services and the emergency hotline. It certainly got my attention and as a result, I now have a record of the contact number on my phonebook.
But yes, the hubby was speeding (not really, just about 40-50kph) when I took these shots, usually employing the point-and-shoot method of taking pictures.
Also along the same wall are various doodles showing the traditional livelihood of the countryside folks many decades ago (although some are still doing the same thing today).
And my apologies, as just like the other local street artwork shared previously, there was nowhere to find information about who had done them. Or maybe I'm not looking at the right places, lol!
I wonder whether the signatures at the bottom of this piece were by the artists. It's quite rare to see names in murals here.
I assumed this piece refers to the coexistence of the mining industry and agriculture in this town. I could be wrong though.
There are various doodles on that spacious street wall but these are the only shareable ones. The others were photographed badly and editing them excessively would not be ideal.
So this is it for the day and hope that the next time we find or notice murals along the streets, we will have the chance to stop or pullover and enjoy them for some moments and get better shots too :)
