Hello everyone, it's yet another week of throwback thursday and I'm so excited💃💃💃 to participate in this week throwback thursday.
This week, i will be doing a throwback of my mandatory one year national service which is known as NYSC (National Service Youth Corps).
My One year national service was an experience i could not forget because of the positive impact it has on me. NYSC is a compulsory one year of service in Nigeria which its mandatory for every fresh graduate.
I could remember how anxious i was then, while awaiting my call-up letter. On receiving the letter, i receive the shock of my life. When i realise i was posted to Kaduna, the northern part of Nigeria. I grew up in western part of Nigeria and i never wish to go to the Northern part because of the recurrent crises that do occur in those areas.
Since it's a mandatory one year,i had no choice than to travel down to Kaduna.
The journey took me about 13hours. I was not that bored because i was in company of other corps member.
On getting to the camp, i went to the hall for registration and i was allotted to platoon 3. I really enjoy my stay in Kaduna. It was lot of fun and I'm so grateful that i did not miss out of this.
Right in the camp, we always have early morning meditation as early as 5am, where all Corpers will step out of their hostel to the field after which we will do our morning exercises. At first, i find it difficult waking up so early, but with time i adjusted.
Another interesting part of the camp is the camp social night which holds every night. Its a place where you can display your skills and talent.
At the camp we are asked to join various skill acquisition group, where i joined the baking class. It was an opportunity for me to learn new baking skills.
We are also had carnival in camp. it was really fun. Not only that i was able to make new friends in camp.
After the compulsory camp week, i decided to stay back in Kaduna to complete my one year compulsory youth service.
I was opportuned to visit Kaduna airport, Kaduna Stadium, i also went for Dinner parties and various restaurant within the state.
It was indeed a wonderful experience for and I'm happy i visited those places.
Thanks for reading....
