This week, i will be doing a throwback of my mandatory one year national service which is known as NYSC (National Service Youth Corps).

My One year national service was an experience i could not forget because of the positive impact it has on me. NYSC is a compulsory one year of service in Nigeria which its mandatory for every fresh graduate.

I could remember how anxious i was then, while awaiting my call-up letter. On receiving the letter, i receive the shock of my life. When i realise i was posted to Kaduna, the northern part of Nigeria. I grew up in western part of Nigeria and i never wish to go to the Northern part because of the recurrent crises that do occur in those areas.

Since it's a mandatory one year,i had no choice than to travel down to Kaduna.

The journey took me about 13hours. I was not that bored because i was in company of other corps member.

On getting to the camp, i went to the hall for registration and i was allotted to platoon 3. I really enjoy my stay in Kaduna. It was lot of fun and I'm so grateful that i did not miss out of this.

Right in the camp, we always have early morning meditation as early as 5am, where all Corpers will step out of their hostel to the field after which we will do our morning exercises. At first, i find it difficult waking up so early, but with time i adjusted.

At the Social Night

Another interesting part of the camp is the camp social night which holds every night. Its a place where you can display your skills and talent.

Hi, welcome to #tbt Thursdays!. I really liked your post, it's full of emotions and we finally found out that it was a very pleasant experience for you. It is from moments like this that we build our personality and earn a place in life, I'm sure you left the National Youth Service with a different perspective and with a lot of desire to continue self-discovery. Thank you very much for telling us this story, you can come back here whenever you want, we will always be here on Thursdays, you can bring pictures or video narrations of your most interesting anecdotes from the past. Happy last week of the year friend!...

Thank you so much. I really appreciate

Hello friend, moments like that are unique and will always be remembered. It is also incredible that you have had that opportunity to be part of that camp and in that way be able to grow as people, learn and see another reality of life. I also liked how they were doing the activities and not just being locked up. That memory of TBT is very good.

Beautiful you
