Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA: An Amateurish Beer Review

I recently cracked into a can of Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA, so now it's time to share the experience with you. It's been a while since I last participated in #beersaturday, but this was worthy of returning to discuss through copious italicized all-caps words.

This beer is STRONK, 9% ABV. This beer is HOPPED to the MAX at 90 IBU, yet MALTY A.F. Herbal bitterness meets juicy sweetness like a FIST OF FURY.

I like it.

The last Imperial IPA I tried was like this, except everything was wrong. This is so, so right. The hops are definitely present, but not overpowering. There are pine and citrus notes, but neither to excess. The malt balances the bitterness perfectly for my taste. And it wasn't watery swill.

Despite being nominally a microbrew, Dogfish Head is distributed nationwide in the USA. Try it if you can find it!

I am not quite sure what you mean, but I offer !PIZZA regardless.

I think this overly italicized review was excellent! I love that can design.

FIST OF FURY!!! :0D

I know, this review absolutely required several shots to even hint at the insanity of the design. Fancy art is wasted on bland beer, but here, it is worthy.

That looks like a huge can of beer. I hardly see any brand in that big can be sold here in my place.

That monstrous head on the can is a bit weird though for my liking. : )

These cans are called "tall boys," like a normal 12 US oz. soda/beer can except stretched in height. This particular can holds 19.25 US oz, or one British imperial pint. Hooray for crazy non-metric weights and measures differing from one place to another!

I should have poured this into a beer stein so I could see what kind of head was on the beer itself.
