I have been on a roll, ever since I discovered those Sumerian stone tablets telling the whole Genesis story a little differently.
In fact it seems that the whole Genesis story is a copypasta thing which in the process has altered the earlier version here & there. Just like many movies mess with the original book story.
The biggest difference I explained over these last weeks is that the Sumerian tablets talk about the Anunnaki, those who came from the heavens to the earth (Sky People).
The Sumerian Tablets talk about multiple Anunnaki, now I have pointed out that the Dead Sea Scrolls also mention lower Gods like the Demiurge. But today I am gonna go one step beyond!
I am going to establish that even Genesis talks about multiple Gods.
In the Beginning, there was... Elohim
In the oldest versions of the Genesis text, the word used for God is "Elohim." This term is found throughout the Hebrew Bible and is one of the names used to refer to God. "Elohim" is a plural form in Hebrew but is typically used with singular verbs and adjectives when referring to the monotheistic God of Israel.
For example, in the original Hebrew of Genesis 1:1, the text reads: "בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ" (B'reishit bara Elohim et hashamayim v'et haaretz), which translates to "In the beginning, God(s) (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth."
Would it not make sense that Elohim which is plural might mean there is more than one, but only one ruling Israel...or even Earth?
Maybe they do not even talk about Gods, because Elohim means the powers or the Powerful ones?
Those Sky people, the Anunnaki, they were extremely powerful.
They were multiple, and they had one leader on Earth called Enlil but there were more Anunnaki or Elohim?
To the Sumerians the Anunnaki were Gods, and their stories were used for the Book of Genesis.
Let's see if it would make sense to talk about more than one God.
In the Beginning, there was Nothing
What if In the Beginning there was nothing was not as complex as we thought?
What if the Anunnaki were advanced enough to blow up their own planet into a black hole and then come here and play The Powerful Ones, or Gods.
Earth might have been nothing more than the next best place close to home.
Now if you read the creation story the Gods started from scratch:
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
But there was water? No form, but water?
"The environment around this quasar is unique in that it's producing this huge mass of water,” he said. "It's another demonstration that water is pervasive throughout the universe, even at the very earliest times."
That truly sounds like a new galaxy being born, this leaves me with two options.
- Elohim or Anunnaki explained to humans how Earth was created.
- Or Project Earth started at the creation and they have been here from that start.
We know that these sky people had a very different life expectancy than we do, oh no you did not.
Gods of course are known for their lack of mortality, and if you look at the Sumerian Tablet called the Kings List. You see that it has about 23 kings, reigning for over 23.000 years.
The last few kings must have been human because their reign lasted for like 23 to 30 years, but the earliest kings lived for thousands of years and slowly it declined to acceptable human lifespans.
Now these early Kings must have been the Powerful ones because no human lives that long...unless they temper with our DNA as I mentioned last week in:
My Musical Sunday School Sessions - What Kinda Gods Fall From The Sky?
Even KingS Get Tired of Being King After a Thousand Years
To keep it easy I am going to assume the first kings were full-on Anunnaki living for tens of thousands of years possibly.
Then they got tired of it and started using hybrid kings.
Those who came from their early experiments when they tried to figure out how the humans should designed to serve their purpose. I would not be surprised if these creatures later would be the inspiration of the Nephilim ((human & angels halfbreeds), to be honest.
The powerful ones argued a lot about how much we should be like them. Because they wanted us to be copies of them to do the work, but you don´t want to lose control over your creation.
And so Genesis was created; you know the story Elohim created light called it day, and night to do the naughty things in the dark.
In the End It Does Not Really Matter
Now for me, it does not matter really when Project Earth started it gets interesting when we happened.
Vegetarians are gonna love me for this, but it´s Elohims will.
And God said, 'Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.'
Then Elohim said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Elohim said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'
And then the important part:
'Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.'
This indicates that both humans and animals were originally given plants for food. No mention of eating meat at this point in the creation narrative, that will change after the flood.
And to show how much Genesis resembles the Sumerian story I will tell the story of Noah (yes the boat dude), but the earlier Sumerian version, the tale of Utnapishtim (I understand that they switched that name to Noah).
The Story of Utnapishtim
The gods decided to destroy humanity with a great flood due to their noise and sins, which had become intolerable to the gods.
The Sumerian Anunnaki God Ea (also known as Enki), who had sworn to his leader Enlil to keep the plan a secret, warned one person, Utnapishtim about the impending flood.
Ea instructed him to build a large boat to save himself, his family, and samples of all living creatures.
Utnapishtim followed the divine instructions, constructed a massive vessel, loaded the boat with his family, various craftsmen, and animals.
A destructive flood ensued, overwhelming the earth with torrents of water. The flood lasted for several days, covering even the highest mountains.
After the floodwaters receded, the boat came to rest on a mountain. Utnapishtim released birds to find dry land. The birds did not return, indicating that the floodwaters had receded enough to allow life to resume on land.
Utnapishtim and his wife were granted immortality by the gods for their obedience and started a new life at the mouth of the rivers.
That sounds pretty close to what Genesis said about Noah, right?
Only this was set in stone 3500 years earlier.
Why do I bring this up again? To point out that Elohim (plural Powerful Ones) and Anunnaki multiple Sumerian Gods might be the same.
Secondly, because:
It is only after the Flood, in Genesis 9:3, that God expands the human diet to include meat:
"Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything."
Bikini Bottom Line
Sorry vegetarians, I am not making this up. But I think I can offer an explanation of why the Elohim changed their minds. It's a very political explanation and it proves that even the Anunnaki Powerful Ones did not see eye to eye.
But not today, because the Anunnaki or Elohim created us with a short attention span and I wonder if 1500 words would not already be too much for most of their creation.
Trust me, next week I will unruffle this meat/No meat mystery and provide more proof of how these Elohim, Anunnaki Gods, or Sky People messed with our DNA constructing a being that served their purpose and is chained to the Earth like a slave.
Thank godness you made it till the end Pees, Love and I am out of here!
