Fountains

in #hive-1949139 hours ago

I've been hanging on to these fountain photos for a long time now. I've been trying to gather enough to make a decent post about them. Interesting fountains aren't very common where I'm from so I don't think I'll be seeing anymore cool ones anytime soon. With no more to add to my collection, I think it's time to post them. So here we go!

The first one is a favorite of mine. It was seen in Basel Switzerland several years back. The colors and the whimsical witchy vibe make it something special.

The next one is pretty incredible as well. It was seen in a covered passageway in the old town of Amsterdam.

Next comes one that we spotted in Chur Switzerland way back in June 2021. Luckily my phone kept track of the date and location because I wouldn't have remembered otherwise.

We saw these five spitting heads in Luxembourg City Luxembourg.

It's not as good when you can see the spout coming out of the mouth of a fountain, especially when it's literally just a plastic tube. Nonetheless I actually quite like these two heads spotted in Aix en Provence France.

At some point along the way in our travels I decided to begin saving the fountain photos for a dedicated post like this one. At that point I started to make a point of taking head on shots for consistency. This wolf head fountain was seen in Chamonix France. To me it has a Werewolf vibe about it.

The next is a brass (or maybe copper) Medusa looking head seen outside the Chateau in Chantilly France.

The limestone looking one was seen in Vienna Austria.

Next is a large brass one spotted in Baden Baden Germany. To me it sort of has a Japanese look about it, especially the design of the koi fish. What do you think?

Okay the last one isn't really a fountain but it's in the same vein as one. It's a template of a gargoyle meant for a chateau. Some gargoyles like this one were used as gutter spouts. So in a way, it's very similar to a fountain, at least on a rainy day.

Well, thats the last of my fountain photos. Which was your favorite? Let me know in the comments.

Well that post was a bit drippy 🤣, Loved the fish one in Amsterdam, bet not many have spotted that !

I am not a big fan of seeing the actual spout either. These are magic though. I think the fishy Amsterdam one has to be my fave!
