Some shots from the roof of our house.

The sky was almost covered in dark rain clouds, but there was light on the mountains.

The clouds were dark and foreboding at the west, but the east held the last of the light.

I spotted a glimpse of the light from the road at the front of our place and took it as a signal by Mother nature to tell me to climb onto the roof.
Of course when Marian saw me with the ladder, she wanted to have a heart attack, but I assured her that all would be fine. I cannot just sit around and a man has to find things to do, so I climbed onto the roof.
Come and see what I got.

The mountains were adamant to hang on to the last vestiges of light and it was a fascinating show. Sadly, the light on the roof was a bit dark, but I was thankful that I could get anything at all. I don't have Photoshop and from what I have seen from some of my friends here on Hive, I think that Photoshop could certainly have enhanced the photos. But be that as it may, I still think that these photos are not too bad. In fact, good enough to post. What say ye? :)

So here you have it and it was the best that I could do under the dark circumstances. But please know that I am not complaining about the light, as we have to take all of the chances that we are given. I wanted to show you the beauty and my love for that white line of clouds under the mountain peaks. Life works like the ocean waves, up and down and one has to wait for the correct wave to surf with a camera :)

I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

I have always liked how it looks when the clouds cover the mountains, very nice

Thank you and I am also fascinated by the effect that clouds have on the mountains :)

So you climbed on the roof again, my friend? I can feel with Marian, but the images that came out are worth it, of course 🤩
Yes, with Photoshop you could enhance the colours and the dramatic clouds in the sky, but the images are great anyway and I can easily imagine how amazing it must have been to be up there and enjoy these amazing views 😀

Today I dare not go near the roof as the winds are running at between 40-50km gusts here. Enen blows some of our new granadillas off the fence. So you can imagine me taking off from the roof if the wind catches my big ears. Hopefully it will blow me right into the hospital's yard 🤣 !LOLZ

I have long ago figured out that as is photos can also look not too bad and thus, I don't have to spend time, that I do not have to sit in Photoshop editing. It is real magical on the roof and we are thinking to remove the flat roof and to replace it with a pitched roof. Then I can build a room inside the roof with a big window that can face the mountains. But that is going to be expensive and maybe one day.
I am glad that you enjoyed the views 🙏

Cheers and thanks.

It's good that you don't climb up to the roof, but your first words reminded me on Dumbo the flying elephant 😁 !LOLZ

Photo editing takes often more time than shooting them 😅

This kind of roof and the room up there sounds awesome. Hopefully one day you will be able to afford it 🤞

Hahaha, maybe I am Dumbo the human clown 😜 !LOLZ

Oh yes, I know and that's another reason that I don't have one. Some dude suggested that something like Luminar Neo is perhaps an easier system and I wrote the name down, but I have still not had a look at it.

During my construction days a guy asked me to build a gymnasium in his roof and it was an easy job, as I worked on many roofs at the time. The proper materials and the strength of the floor are the priorities.
Maybe one day my friend 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Luminar is an AI software that is easy to use but I prefer to do my edits without an AI, although Photoshop has some kind of AI built in already too. My edits feel more handcrafted to me somehow 😉
I often clone out distracting things like people 😁 but I never add things like another sky or so, but with Luminar you can do it easily and change a photo completely so that even you might not recognise your own image 😉

Yep, it's important that the floor is strong enough to hold your weight and don't break 😁 !LOLZ

Great news and now I don't need to have a look at Luminar. As you know, I don't like to change the images that I take of nature, as then it is not natural. But in saying this I would like to clone out imperfections such as sun spots etcetera. At the moment I simply delete the photos even though some of them are very nice 😉 !LOLZ

Not only to hold my weight, but to last for many years. The old style of construction with multiple supports works the best for me 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Some people like it because you can enhance a photo with a few clicks 😉 !LOLZ and of course, you can edit the AI's edits afterwards to make the image looking more natural.

There are also free photo editing tools like Gimp that is similar to Photoshop and that certainly has tools to clone out things.

I am sure you will build the perfect roof 😊👍

Okay, I can understand the need to edit photos, and as you know I am okay with it, so maybe one day I will also give it a try 😉 !LOLZ

Thank you and I try to get things done well as best I can 👌👍

Cheers and thanks.
