The view from Rattlesnake Point on Mount Moosalamoo in the Green Mountains near Salisbury, Vermont.
The large lake on the right is Lake Dunmore. I love taking this hike because the view point is about 1400 ft above the lake. I walk around the lake everyday and Rattlesnake Point can be seen from the lake as a rock outcropping way up on the side of the mountain. Its cool you can hike up there 🙂
You get some views of the Green Mountains on the way up but mostly you are hiking through the forest.
The sky was gorgeous yesterday for the hike. A little warm and buggy but the warm weather won't last much longer in Vermont so I shouldn't complain.
There are several places to take in the view once you reach the end of the trail. But the evening sun was starting to glare on the north end of the lake.
There is a small island on Lake Dunmore that we kayak around a few times a year.
Even though the point of getting up high is to look down, I still ended up taking lots of shots of the sky.
Lake Dunmore dominates the view but you can also see Fern Lake and Silver Lake.
Views like this always demand a pano but the glare to the north was ruining wider shots.
But I still took a couple 😊
