Spending Christmas on a cruise ship had been the dream of my life. To forget about problems while watching and listening to the sea from the ship's railing. Not having to cook or receive visitors who are only interested in what you are wearing, if you have arranged your house or not. If you made the hallacas, or if you bought them.

Under the harsh glow of a silver LED bulb stationed overhead, four men gathered at a square table in an abandoned room, junk strewn across the dirty cement floor. Hands folded across broad chests, slightly heavy breaths and an occasional sigh as all four gazed down intently at the blueprint of a building spread before them on the table.
