Starship is about to launch. Watch it here

in #lifelast month

The world has been thrilled to watch Spacex develop Starship, and the 5th flight of Starship ended with the super heavy booster being caught in midair by the chopsticks. There has rarely been a more thrilling space launch, and the 6th flight of Starship is about to begin, and Spacex intends to catch the booster again. Enjoy!

For those that prefer X to Goolag, you can watch it here:

No catch this time, but both booster and starship made controlled splashdowns, so starship outperformed expectations.

without re-offering evidence or all the arguments that have been mentioned by the sceptics, allow me - for the sake of completion and balanced perspectives - to say: fairytale!

;)

I used to launch my own rockets as a kid.

Thanks!

wow ahahaha, what kid does that and what fuel did you use?
the rocket concept is quite mindblowing and i do not doubt the existence of rockets. just the purpose they are allegedly being used for.

There were kits from Estes that were available when I was young. There were various sizes of engines that were all supplied with solid fuel and required an expensive electrical ignition system. Later I used to make (much cruder) rockets from masking tape and shotgun powder.

My understanding is that the Starship isn't being used for any purpose presently except testing design iterations.
