I managed three runs over the past week, the first was on my holiday week, a nice easy 6K, the second was some midweek intervals and the third a rather slow 5K!
Last Thursday's Run - beach 6K
I was away in Swansea visiting some friends and this meant a trip to the beach, in October. A friend of mine suggested a run he knew so I tagged along for 6K, the last K or so was literally along the beach, very nice, firm sand thankfully and then straight into the sea afterwards.
And don't worry, while the sea was cold, afterwards it was warm enough to sit around in trunks for another 30 mnins or so, thanks global warming!
Tuesday - INTERVALS
I had a four hour drive back from London and then I was straight into the following interval session:
The above was my local 5K circuit turned into intervals but I wasn't doing anything too spectacular. Nice and easy!
This Thursday - slow 5K
Talking about nice and easy, my latest run was just a slow 5K, one of the slowest in ages.
In retrospect, this pace is probably because I was in the early stages of an illness, which I'm now in the middle of, and it's pretty grim.
But the thing when you're ill and you don't really know it, is to get them in, whatever, glad I did!
Next weeks plans...
I'm gonna hope i'm feeling better by Weds, it's now Sunday, and I'm told this illness drags, so I may not be running until Friday, we will just have to see how it goes!
