A hasty link dump of my literary occupations in the second half of October.
I also share some of my thoughts.
My Thoughts
Last week was quiet for me. I spent a lot of time sleeping to recover from the dreaded Man Flu. I was thoroughly bored by the time I recovered to full health despite taking only a handful of sickdays. The period of recuperation left me eager enough for returning to work.
But it wasn't clear as to why I'm eager for that. I had to think about it a little because prior to the onset of the manflu, I was more exasperated with work than I gave credit for. Yet I couldn't deny it was enjoyable spending my first day back working more than I was expected to.
Work is challenging in both complexity & volume so by throwing myself into it, maybe I'm simulating a normal lifestyle? Is it feasible that by replacing the strains & pains of thinking with working, I'm tricking myself into believing a life of toil is appeasing? That things are working out as they should be?
What's the distinction I'm attempting to illustrate here between the working of thought and thinking of work anyway? Creativity & expression of imagination comes harder recently and I do sincerely believe that's why I replaced the components of life using creativity with a committed yet vacuous devotion to work.
It'll pass and re-balance in due course.
In the meantime, I'm reading voraciously and researching chronologies from our near past. It's helping me to avoid the majority of #CognitiveWarfare & #Clownworld 24/7 broadcasting of militarized media misanthropy.
Not being tapped into 24/7 broadcasted media doom feeds during today's highly charged daily online digital life of psychological & behavioral manipulation reminded me of the #DigitalDetox Initiative that I used years ago.
Keen to attempt a stronger commitment to another #DigitalDetox - I have the fancy notion that without the constant temptation and/or distraction by online worlds, I'd find the time & focus to finish reading many books! Maybe finish writing dozens of drafted articles and complete the incomplete paintings & drawings scattered throughout my abode!
Wouldn't that be nicest of all?

ARPC’s 2023 Terrorism Risk Insurance Seminar
The Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation's 2023 Terrorism Risk Insurance Seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, 2nd November 2023. I registered to attend the event online, thankful for the opportunity to do so. Unfortunately, registration for the online live-streaming event was canceled a couple of days after Israel vs Gaza blew up. Attendance is now strictly limited to in-person, which put me out of the picture.
Back in 2020 I was lucky enough to attend my first Webinar hosted by the ARPC on this same topic. Quite unexpectedly, the Webinar was extremely informative and open, and the audience was comprised of not only Australian Insurance Professionals but Intelligence Agencies, Government Departments, Global Cyber & Info-Tech contractors discreetly representing their wares & services.
Oh well - my digital online attendance being rescinded is analogous to what's meant by Once Solid Knowledge.
