I was on time for a CSX intermodal where the lead locomotive appeared to have a fresh paint job or a wash. CSX intermodal with one loco on the lead end and 2 dpus in the middle. I don't know much about trains, I think it depends on the weight, and length of the train that decides where the power goes. The intermodal trains are the trains with the containers stacked. They move your Amazon package, TV, computer, etc.
