A Trip To Ajah

in #hive-153850last month

I have been to Lagos countless times. I was born and raised in Lagos before we relocated to where we live now. But I never knew I had been enjoying most of my life on the Lagos mainland, and there is just another life existing in that same Lagos but outside of the mainland. It's Lagos island.

I have heard a lot about Lekki, Ajah, and the Island, but I never got the opportunity to be there. I heard discussions about how beautiful the beach is and the beautiful waterbody that breaks through the islands from the mainland, yet I wasn’t freaked out to be there. I have heard about the third mainland bridge that links the mainland and the island together.

Recently, we had to make a trip to the island, and it has been one of the most amazing trips for me. I got to see more of life itself. It was an amazing trip down to Lagos because I travelled alongside some of my friends, too. So it was nothing but fun all through.

When we got to the mainland it was nothing new to me because that has been my regular route. But when we went to the third mainland bridge I was wowed. I wondered how people get to think and even create a bridge over such a huge water body and then it lasted for a very long time.

I saw a lot of speedboats and canoes. Lots of fishermen have their regular activities. I am kinda scared of water when it comes to huge water. I fear the power of water.

To Ondo state.

I have never been to Ondo State before. It’s located in the western part of the country. And it's my dad’s maternal hometown. I had the chance to visit the state a long time ago, but unfortunately, I wasn't a part of it. My sister went and came back to make a gist about how the state was.

After so many years I had a roommate who hails from this state, he told me all about the state and at times brags about how beautiful his state is. I knew someday I might be opportune to visit the state. Then I will get to see by myself all of the nice places he told me about.

Last month my dream came to pass, i traveled down to Ondo state and the trip was full of fun because I went with my roommate whom we have been close friends. It was fun as I made fun out of how local their state was compared to Lagos.

I really loved the peaceful existence in the state. And the lovely views of the big rocks all around the state. When I got to my friend's apartment, I sighted a rock from afar and it was so tall to the extent that it was touching the clouds and the clouds were like smoke erupting from the rock. They are so beautiful.

I also love how houses were built on rocks and the big trees all around. I love the existence over there compared to Lagos that’s so crowded and overpopulated. If I were to travel again I would love to visit Ondo state once again and make sure I can visit some of their attraction centres and parks.

The world is a big place and you can only enjoy the view of the places around you except you're far away from your environment then you get to see the beauty of the world.

I would want you to visit Idanre Hills or Ikogosi waterfalls in Ondo State if you haven't been to any. They are such an amazing place to be. Ondo is a local place but they are known for rocks and big mountains.

This just reminds me of how beautiful our country is but then, I’m not one that really enjoys traveling due to my past experiences but I will definitely love to visit some of these places you’ve mentioned.

Thanks for sharing Abdul.
