Home training is so important in a kid’s lifestyle. It plays a major role in allowing the kid to know what is right from what is wrong. And this would be a guideline for the child to live his or her life.
Many children who are not on the right path today have their faults, but most of it is the parents' responsibility. Some are not well trained, and this plays a role in their lives and their career paths.
I remembered one great lesson Dad taught me when I was a kid not to trust anyone. Nobody can be trusted even yourself, not to talk of a friend of yours. The discipline and attention our parents gave us have shaped us to become who we are today.
There are times when our parents might have to cook up some imaginary tales or I call them superstition and conspiracy Theories just to make us feel scared and cautious.
Most of those words were there to direct and guide us. Even at times, they might be so different from the world we live in.
When we got to secondary school it was about time we started getting matured and understood life better. I am sure Mum already knows that we are at the stage of having relationships with the opposite sex. It's time we have girlfriends at school or we have one from the street.
Mum would call me and my brother times without a number and have us listen to her conspiracy theory. She would convince us that we shouldn’t run after girls. We should rather focus on our studies and excel than in the end those ladies would be the ones running after us.
I felt it was true since she was a lady and maybe she was the one who ran after Dad back then. 😆. My brother set a good example by not having much entanglement with ladies or running after any. So I followed his path too. We diverted all of our energy and focused on our studies, with the belief that after all ladies would come running after us.
Time flew by, and this act made me so shy that I couldn't even approach a lady or ask one out. I took my mind off it. My friends at different stages would make fun of me, and laugh at me for my actions. They would call me different names. But I remained focused.
Finally, we are out of school and kinda earning some amount. Then mum called me one day again to ask if I had a lady. I smiled and remembered those times she kept hammering me not to run after ladies. Now she is asking me for a lady.
I told her I don't run after ladies, and I don't ask ladies out. All I am focused on is how to make money and live a better life. I guessed it was time the truth behind her theory was unveiled. She has to tell me the reason why ladies would run after me if I face my studies and I don't see any of them running after me now.
