Hello everyone, I’m here to share with you all a jewelry holder in the shape of cactus. I know I’m not the one who loses all her jewelry sometimes. I’ve tried different ways to keep but it’s either the necklaces gets entangled being a box or another thing happens. I decided to change the narrative this time and just thought of making myself a jewelry holder.
At the moment, I have a lot of green yarn so I knew whatever I want to do has to be something green and thankfully I saw this design on Pinterest so I went for it. It’s very easy and even though I do not like single crochet, this was a lot better. I spent just and hour and half on this and I recommend this to everyone especially beginners.
The materials I used were;
• leftover yarn
• 1.60mm crochet hook
• cotton wool
• sewing needle
Procedure
I began with the stem or the middle part of the cactus.I started by making 15 single crochets in a magic ring and then slip stitched the ends. I then built on the base and made single crochet throughout till I got to the desired height I wanted. Whatever you make is solely dependent on the height or size that you want the cactus to be.
I then stuffed it with cotton to give it a proper stamina when I mount it.
I moved on to the arms as then made 4 single crochet in a magic ring and slip stitched the ends. I then also built on that till I reached about the 9 row of single crochet which was my desired height for the arms. As I said earlier, you can make it to the height that you want.
I repeated this for the other arm and I was done with the parts. Also, I stuffed the arms a little bit and then put a metal wire in it so I would be able to bend the arms.
I now moved on to the base of the holder.
I made 6 single crochet in a magic and then increased it the next row with 2 single crochet in each stitch. For the next row I made 2 single crochet in 2 stitches and then 1 increase in the next. For the fourth row, I made three single crochet in 3 stitches and 2 single crochet in one stitch. That’s how the increase happened. I kept on increasing till the last part where I made 8 stitches and then one increase in the 9th stitch.
I then sewed the branches to the stem and then I mounted the cactus onto the base and then sewed that too. I was done with the holder.
The result
It was really simple doing this and I didn’t even know when I finished because it was faster than I thought it would be. The result also looked really cute.
Thank you all for your time and I hope you like it too.
