Sunsets, windmills and a damn good song 🎵

Sunset up the mountain

I had to head up the mountain road in Moycullen today, as I had some business to take care of. I was blown away by the beautiful colours in the sunset, so I stopped to take these photos.

I love to find beauty in the simple and the banal. That's exactly what I've done here. I hope you agree and like the shots.

I like the juxtaposition here between the trees and the windmills. The trees represent old ways of life and tradition, while the windmills represent modern ways and technology.

Which is better?

The jury is still out, I guess but like most things, some semblance of balance is likely the answer.

Old ways of life are good and one most remember where one comes from, yet change and adaptation are also important.

All you can see in all directions from up here are bogs, forestry and countryside and it reminds a little of a great song by a local Irish musician called Mick Flannery. He has a song which extols the virtuesbof having a walk in a forest with a stick rather than having your head stuck in a phone/tablet/device.

Here is that song from Mick.

Have an auld listen there now and let me know ye good people think.

I'll tell ye what I think. I think Mick's a genius and his sentiment is absolutely spot on here. We need to wake up and smell the coffee both physically and metaphorically.

Here's one last view of the mindmill speckled hill reflected off my car window.

Oh and if you enjoyed that Mick Flannery song, check him out on Spotify. He has plenty more where that came from.

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone

Peace Out

Beautiful colors! I know windmills have their function, but I would almost prefer the view without them!

Ya I hear you man, however I'd take windmills over nuclear ever single day of the week. For me nuclear power perfectly demonstrated people's propensity to short term thinking.

Leaving behind nuclear waste for the next 100+ generations is grotesque and plain wrong in my opinion.

I sent my girlfriend a 'Get Better' card.
She's not sick, or anything - I just think she can get better..
