I recently made a solid trade with MOODENG. Bought some at around $0.06 and managed to sell half between $0.15 and $0.24. The local top hit $0.26, but it's now in a massive correction. While that doesn't necessarily mean the end for this meme coin, I’m not expecting much from my remaining stack—I’ll just let it ride.
But this post isn’t really about MOODENG; it’s about buying vs. selling and which is more crucial. Maybe comparing the two seems odd, but we shouldn't view buying a coin the same way we approach selling it.
Yesterday, I watched a great YouTube video of some guy interviewing millionaires in San Francisco. One real estate investor shared some solid advice: focus more on the buy than the sell. His point? You should be more diligent with your entry price because securing a great deal often relies entirely on your buying strategy, not on selling at peak market prices.
When euphoria hits and coins start pumping, everyone profits—but those who bought at rock-bottom make the biggest gains. That’s been my focus throughout 2022 and 2023. In 2021, I made the mistake of buying coins like ATOM at inflated levels, ending up near the top. This cycle, I did the opposite, positioning myself to take profits before the mania hits. That’s what the guy in the video meant: get a great entry price so you don’t have to gamble on the market reaching your ideal sell target.
Take ADA, for instance. Anyone who picked it up at $0.03 or $0.05 during the 2018 bear market was in great shape selling during its first parabolic move in early 2021. Sure, it went as high as $3 later, but you’d have to stomach some hefty corrections just to squeeze out a few extra X’s on your investment.
Basically, buying coins at the bottom makes it way easier to see life-changing gains than jumping onto hype-trains or parabolic moves. But, few have the guts to buy when there’s “blood in the streets,” so to speak.
The next six months to a year look profitable, in my opinion, for anyone who’s been accumulating crypto during 2022, 2023, and even 2024. By 2025, it’ll be time to dump bags, not buy, except for some stablecoins, figuratively speaking. So let’s focus on scooping up coins near the bottom rather than nailing the absolute top.
Once we’ve done that, the rest is relatively straightforward, although it still requires patience and conviction. Just my two cents. Have a great Sunday, and see you all next time.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
