I like your analysis and I agree with you. The changes will bring more stability to the rental market and rentals will be there rather to improve a splinter to reach more daily focus points.

The rental prices are very cheap right now so I am going to try and make money on the daily battles. I topped out in Silver 1 last season and had a rating in mid gold 1. 
I am thinking I will get 5 DEC per battle higher payout with more collection power.
