In the context of the weekly liotes mission, we have asked the Liotes community what are the things that should be built on hive. We have listed a set of features and their task was to put them in order of importance:
We gave them the following options:
A: More good web 3.0 games
B: An onboarding process for Hive (a funnel for new users to teach them about how hive works)
C: E-commerce tools to use Hive, HBD, HE tokens to pay for products and services
D: A knowledge base about Hive
E: New ways to generate income on Hive
F: More DEFI tools
G: Others (your own ideas)
The provided list was not complete and people could also submit their own ideas. However, we didn't have an idea that was suggested by more than one person.
In total, 21 hivians took part in the mission and gave their ranking. Of course this is not a representative query but it gives a helpful indication for what features are needed by the community.
How I treated the results
For each person who gave us a ranking, I wrote the answers in a spreadsheet. If a feature was named first, I gave it one point. The next feature would get 2 points and so on. If one or several features was not ranked by an user, I gave them all the same amount of points but one above the last ranked feature.
Let's say an user ranked the features as follows:
D, B, A, C
D would get 1 point. B would get 2 points, A would get 3 points, C would get 4 points, E and F would get 5 points.
This way of using the data allows basically to see the average rank for each answer. It's a good way in my opinion to compare the results.

Average rank | 3.81 | 2.33 | 3.52 | 3.19 | 3.90 | 4.67 | 6.14 |
Based on these results the need for the features would be in the following order:
B: An onboarding process for Hive (a funnel for new users to teach them about how hive works) – 2.33 average rank
D: A knowledge base about Hive – 3.19 average rank
C: E-commerce tools to use Hive, HBD, HE tokens to pay for products and services – 3.52 average rank
A: More good web 3.0 games – 3.81 average rank
E: New ways to generate income on Hive – 3.9 average rank
F: More DEFI tools – 4.67 average rank
Hive needs an onboarding process!
When looking at these results, there is a huge gap between the best average ranked feature and all the others. It seems that people really think that an onboarding process is very important for hive. This would be a kind of funnel where people are taken through the sign up process and where they would learn step by step how hive works.
A big thanks to all the people who took part in this mission and expressed their opinion!
