THE COURSES THAT NEEDS TO BE MOVED FROM OUR UNIVERSITIES

in #hive-1538502 days ago

Hello wonderful people of hive learners community. I salute everyone here. We can not deny the fact that technology is taking over virtually everything. We live in a time when we will begin to forget the old things that we have studied in the university just to come and begin to study a fresh thing entirely.

Change they say is the only one thing that is constant. If there is no change, then we can't be where we are today. We are here today because of change. Everyone needs to upgrade. It doesn't matter what you believe in it. It doesn't matter what we were thought before now. It doesn't also matter what we have thought people before now. What matters is what's up. The new trend. What people are getting to know now. This is where technology has taken us to. Hope you are not left behind?

Moving on to the topic of discussion for today. What is that one or two courses that we still study in our tertiary institution that we need to do away with? Just like I noted before that every one is experiencing change on every dimension. Even in our higher institutions alot have changed. New courses have been introduced and some old ones have been changed with new ones. But I still think that more needs to be done.

A FEW EXAMPLES
In some colleges of education I still see some people study a course that has to do with using the old typewriter.

Typewriting: I hated this particular thing from time immemorial. I don't just know why. But maybe because it is very difficult to learn. When I was smaller I use to see people use it alot na hated for the kind of noise it makes. Just that noise was enough for me to hate that typing machine. You needed to see how they struggle to type with it. I salute them because I don't like it and never will.

So, when we get to a course like - Bed. This is called Business Education. In this course sometimes they need to to use that old typewriter to show the students one or two things. But for me I don't think that it is a good reason to still bring back that course or even use it at all. Is too backward. All that you will see there is the feeling that you are in the olden days. Hahaha 😂. We don't need such things around us. All we need is the new technology that smells nice, looks nice and works nice.

Then I also checked and noticed that some universities still studies courses related to radio/ TV repair. I think that the reason is because people still use TV and also use radio. But trust me they are all fading away. I can't even remember when last I used a television in my life. I don't also use the radio again yet I use my phone to listen to news every day that I want.

You are so right, such courses should be banned

You are so right👍 However if such courses are banned, that means people in the job will be out job.

Sometime last week, I went to get my affidavit done in a court and I met these old women outside typing with a typewriter. What came to mind was, these machine will soon be out because Computer has taken over..
The better they know the safer the outcome 👌

They should go and learn how to work with the computer.
Thanks 👍

This typewriter is my first thing to analyze, no one is using it again because we have a better one, technology has taken over.

Very correct dear
Thanks 👍

I do not agree with you in your opinion, because in my opinion, the Typewriting skill gives you the necessary skills to achieve hand-eye coordination, which allows you to perform different daily tasks, which if that skill could not be achieved, such as writing this post on hive, driving a car (requires hand-eye cognitive activity), etc. In addition to the fact that it is important to preserve the legacy and educate about how people previously learned to write on old machines, it is part of history.

Regarding radio and TV repair courses, they are essential, since if they stopped educating people in the area, they would not be able to have telecommunications, because they are based on the principles of radio waves and TV components. Therefore, they are very important subjects. In fact, they are so important that they are classified at the military level as vitally important.

=)

Okay, that your opinion. I can't use them again because technology has taken over.
Thanks

No offense, your country is too stuck in the past. Of course, that happens here too, but with less intensity. Here, until a time when tube TVs were still on sale in stores, there was a course in how to maintain and repair them. However, with LED TVs, this profession had to be reinvented, and today technicians specialize in repairing only these new TVs.

That is very correct. We need to move on to new things.
