Just around the corner from my house, there is a small park that forms part of my daily walking route. I have to pass by it about four times a day, and even though I am already used to it, there is not a moment when I don't stop marvelling at the great protagonist of this place: an enormous ahuehuete that gives its name to the park. Also known as the "zocalito del ahuehuete", it was built more than 40 years ago, precisely to preserve that great tree.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't enjoy sitting under its shade and listening to the wind rustle its branches and leaves. It is an obligatory stop after picking up my son from preschool, I take the opportunity to relax on the benches while my little boy runs around playing with the old branches that come off this incredible tree.

I have long wanted to share photos of this place, as it has become one of my favourite spots in my town, but I hadn't had the chance to take some good ones. Although it may not look like it, it is difficult to photograph such a big tree, hahaha.

El gran árbol viejo de agua

Justo a la vuelta de mi casa hay un pequeño parque que forma parte de la ruta de mis caminatas diarias. Debo pasar por ahí unas cuatro veces al día, a pesar de estar ya acostumbrada a él, no hay momento en el que no deje de maravillarme con el gran protagonista de este lugar: un enorme ahuehuete que le da nombre al parque. Conocido también como el "zocalito del ahuehuete" se construyó hace más de 40 años, justamente para preservar aquel gran árbol.

No hay día en el que no disfrute de sentarme bajo su sombra a escuchar al viento estremecer sus ramas y hojas. Es una parada obligatoria después de ir por mi hijo al preescolar, yo aprovecho para relajarme en los bancos que hay para sentarse, mientras mi pequeño corre jugando con las ramas viejas que se desprenden de este increíble árbol.

Desde hace mucho quería compartir fotos este sitio, ya que se ha convertido en uno de mis puntos favoritos de mi pueblo, pero no había tenido la oportunidad de tomarle unas buenas. Aunque no lo parezca, es difícil fotografiar a un árbol tan grande, jajajaja.
