I read about the myth of the two mythical beings Papatūānuku and Ranginui represent Mother Earth and the Heavens or the sky Father. This is a fascinating and amazing story about how the earth and heavens were created in the Maori culture!
Knowing that the Maori people are from New Zealand made me think of the flightless bird the Kakapo, and how the Maori people must have used Kakapo in their native culture. I found a really good article on the Maori and the Kakapo in Heritage Daily
