Hey amigos de #sketchbook y #hive, y feliz inicio de semana, hoy les muestro el último de los tres dibujos de los símbolos naturales de Venezuela, los cuales realice para decorar el salón de mi primita de segundo año como un favor a su maestra, para la cual además de estos símbolos, próximamente estaré realizando también una lámina con el dibujo de la escuela, ya que está es la semana aniversario de la institución. Al igual que los otros dos dibujos, realice a esta pequeña avecilla en una hoja blanca, buscando darle buenos trazos y retoques, sin saturar la hoja.
Hey friends of #sketchbook and #hive, and happy start of the week, today I show you the last of the three drawings of the natural symbols of Venezuela, which I made to decorate the classroom of my little cousin in second grade as a favor to her teacher, for which in addition to these symbols, I will soon be making a poster with the drawing of the school, since this is the anniversary week of the institution. Like the other two drawings, I made this little bird on a white sheet, trying to give it good strokes and touches, without saturating the sheet.
El turpial venezolano, también conocido como turpial guajiro, es un pájaro pequeño que llega a medir 22 centímetros, caracterizado por su cuerpo de plumaje amarillo, a excepción de la cabeza y alas, ya que están poseen un plumaje negro, siendo escogido como ave nacional de Venezuela, tras un concurso promovido por la sociedad venezolana de ciencias, nombrado ave nacional el 23 de mayo del año 1958, siendo desde ese entonces uno de nuestros tres símbolos naturales, junto con la orquídea y el araguaney.
The Venezuelan turpial, also known as turpial guajiro, is a small bird that measures up to 22 centimeters, characterized by its yellow plumage body, except for the head and wings, since they have a black plumage, being chosen as the national bird of Venezuela, after a contest promoted by the Venezuelan society of sciences, named national bird on May 23, 1958, being since then one of our three natural symbols, along with the orchid and the araguaney.
El color amarillo de esta ave es hermoso, también se caracteriza por su pico coniforme, lo que le permite hacerse puntiagudo de forma extrema, los tutoriales se distribuyen por toda la zona norte y central de Sudamérica, siendo un ave común en los llanos, especialmente los de colombia. Los turpiales se alimentan de frutas, especialmente una gran variedad de bayas, pero también se les ha visto consumir la savia de árboles recién cortados.
The yellow color of this bird is beautiful, it is also characterized by its coniform beak, which allows it to become extremely pointed, the tutorials are distributed throughout the northern and central zone of South America, being a common bird in the plains, especially those of Colombia. The turpiales feed on fruits, especially a wide variety of berries, but they have also been seen consuming the sap of freshly cut trees.

- Realicé la base del turpial, haciendo con trazos suaves la posición de él y la del tronco.
I made the base of the turpial, making with soft strokes the position of it and that of the trunk.
- Después comencé a darle forma y definir más sus alas, patas, pico, plumaje y la rama donde está posando.
Then I began to shape and define more its wings, legs, beak, plumage and the branch where it is posing.
- Con el bolígrafo, una vez conforme con el dibujo, empecé a realizar el trabajo de línea y posteriormente a eso procedí a borrar las líneas hechas con el lápiz.
With the pen, once I was satisfied with the drawing, I started to do the line work and after that I proceeded to erase the lines made with the pencil.
- Apliqué una base de color suave, definiendo el color dominante en cada area.
I applied a soft base color, defining the dominant color in each area.
- Detallé primero al turpial, comenzando por las áreas amarillas y después detallando las áreas negras. Lo último que detalle fueron sus patas.
I detailed the turpial first, starting with the yellow areas and then detailing the black areas. The last thing I detailed was its legs.
- Para finalizar detallé el tronco con diversos tonos de marron, verde, anaranjado y amarillo, utilizando también morado y negro para la sombra.
Finally I detailed the trunk with various shades of brown, green, orange and yellow, also using purple and black for the shadow.
Lo genial es que por mi casa han llegado turpiales, pero no del mismo tipo que el que tenemos como avenacional, ya que el que ha llegado aquí tiene un tono más tirando a anaranjado y no posee la pluma blanca en su ala, además la distribución del plumaje negro en su cabeza es distinto, ya que en este parece más un antifaz.
The great thing is that in my house have arrived turpiales, but not of the same type that we have as avenacional, since the one that has arrived here has a tone more pulling to orange and does not have the white feather in its wing, in addition the distribution of the black plumage in its head is different, since in this one it seems more like a mask.
