Just like many others, my joy and hope when we wanted to enter this year was palpable. I envisaged greater earnings in my business and huge savings. Fast forwarded into the year, I stepped up my business advert and made more flyers.
I am a business woman that supplies building materials such as granite, stonedust and sand to various building sites.
Other than my expectations, I got no patronage in January, that made me a little bit worried but I thought it was because we just entered a new year. I encouraged myself and put more efforts, but all to no avail 'February will be better' I thought. Alas, things were growing and even became terrible by May. The cost of living was higher, no contract was forthcoming and I suddenly fell sick and had swollen body. Everything became so tough and my goal for the year was becoming unrealisable. While I was sick, I forgot anything like making money, my only prayer was to get better, as they say, 'when there is life, there is hope'. I trusted God for my healing and I became whole. Human wants are insatiable, I agreed. Once I recuperated, I resulted to hustling again but nothing showed.
Earlier in February, I delved into rabbit rearing and my rabbit was pregnant and on the last day of May, I went to vigil only to come back and found that the rabbit had delivered its baby on the floor while I was away. I was happy, I thought money had come. I thought I would raise it and sell it but the kits all died, to make the matter worse. Then, I thought this year, 2024 for me.
As I sat down on the couch, thinking about my life and everything that had happened to me since January till the first day of June, I fell asleep. I woke few hours to a missed call. I tried to reach the number back, alas! It was a client that wanted to give me a contract. With my eyes, half opened, I jumped out of the couch to attend well to the client but I was met with fury, 'dont worry' I couldn't believe my ears, after I had suffered several months without work. 'I must worry'. The client said, he didn't like people missing his call. Haa! 'Enemies at work', I concluded. I can't lose this, I started pacifying the man that I didn't ignore the call on purpose but out of tiredness. After much begging, the man called back and decide to give me contract.
The month of JUNE has always been the best month. Lol! I supplied the company and that particular one opened doors for another.
It was magical. All I had lost and couldn't make for the first five month of the year were restored unto me, or do you think it's because it is my birth month? The Month of June was full of highlights, I must say. My brother got married in the month of June to the most beautiful woman I have ever met.
Weeks after in the same June, we had the first set of twins in our family by my sister. Oh! It was joy upon joy. Seriously, I forgot all the hardship I went through earlier this year. This is why we always have to be resilient in time of trouble. We need to always keep our heads up and know that there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. Even if the light has not shown, we just need to keep pushing and hold our faith.
I wonder who would have eventually picked that great call, if I had injured myself or done otherwise. In fact this year has taught me so much unforgettable lessons which include saving up for rainy season. You know, the previous year, 2023 was good but I had no good saving plan. I thought I would start saving once I entered year 2024. I thought then, I would invest but the year did not start as I expected. I entered it with little and eventually had nothing which affected me so much, but thanks to God that came to my rescue with the remarkable wonders in the month of June. So, I don't know what your highlights have been in the months so far, or maybe your good highlights are yet to show. I believe it will come, the remaining days in this year are enough to bring you life changing blessings and expectations.
