Hello Holozing community!
This is my first post here and I'm quite excited, the truth is that I recently found out about the Holozing game and it really seems to me a pretty good project, soon I hope to have the opportunity to delegate HP as I'm quite interested in being part of this, plus as an artist I really liked the designs and style of the healers and monsters, of course, apart from informing me about the game I also saw the contest and wanted to participate with a complete drawing where I would add the changes that came to my mind.
Although it's not my style to draw in anime style, I wanted my Forest Healer to look very similar to the original, because I repeat, it's beautiful! However, it was something quite difficult, before I thought that the anime style was simple but I couldn't be more wrong, although I tried to make it 100% faithful to the anime style I feel that my realistic strokes that I always use were exposed lol.
My idea
When I saw Forest Healer I obviously thought about nature, I wanted to add many details in green, a color that at least to me is quite complicated to work with, I wanted to explore a change regarding the outfit, changing it to a dark green tone but making it stand out with many small dots of light green that I made by hand each one to create this glitter effect, I wanted to implement instead of glitter a holographic effect but honestly it didn't work out well, maybe it would look better with Ocean Healer which has a bluer color palette and could combine better with the holographic colors I was thinking, as accessories, I thought of some circular and shiny earrings like diamonds surrounded with small branches, I love this accessory and I think it looks pretty cute on her.
I wanted to keep the branches crown she has on her head, but this time I joined them with the bows I made on top, that brings me to the point of the hair change, it really is similar to the original but a little less wavy, plus I added two bows on top, the hairstyle I had chosen to do was not this but honestly the first proposal I made did not please me and I decided to change it.
Something that caught my attention is the four-leaf clover, I thought about how I could take advantage of this element apart from putting it on the shirt, I imagined Forest Healer holding a magic sphere with a shiny clover inside it.
Proceso/Process
We got to the hard part!
The process was quite long, in fact it took me yesterday and today to finish it, of course the sketch was something that took me quite a long time, first I didn't know very well what to do but after a while I understood my idea and I wanted to capture it but there were things that just seemed ugly from the sketch, besides it is quite difficult to change from my realistic style to one of anime, where the factions are finer, I had to make a sketch with bigger eyes and with another shape, another problem was the mouth, normally this style of anime doesn't have pronounced lips, something that in my drawings if it stands out a lot are thick lips, but I tried to make a mouth with small lips but at the same time a little bit thick, as you will see, the hair that I had drawn were two long buns, I even painted them but I didn't like how it looked, it gave her a girlish look and I wanted her to look a Little bit older.
I started coloring using a very limited color palette to give her a better finish, they were quite light skin tones, I painted the eyes, nose and mouth, then I added another layer where I added more details to the face to improve a little the strokes and the texture of the skin, it was time to paint the hair and as I mentioned, here after wasting some time painting the hair I decided to erase it and paint a new one.
Then I added lights and shadows to the hair to give it more life and movement, I also painted the shirt, with a dark gray color which I subtracted from the original drawing, this time I wanted to change the jacket for a kind of cape, where at first I thought to make it white, but then I thought of a totally opposite option to see how it would look like, at the end I liked it like this and I added folds of the fabric painting with shadows and lights, I thought that this cape would be fine without anything else, but then it occurred to me to add a glitter effect, so I took a lighter green and changed the size of the brush to start making different points throughout the fabric and give it that shiny effect.
Then I painted the shamrock on the shirt and the sphere she is holding in her hands, also the shamrock inside the sphere, I added some shine inside the sphere to give the impression that it is a magic shamrock.
Now I painted the earrings with light and dark green in the corners, I added two points of light in the center and then painted around some small branches that cover the earrings, continue painting the branches of the crown, which at the same time connect with the bows I made in her hair, then I added a layer where I started to highlight some illuminations in the face and clothes, for the background I didn't want something exaggerated since this time I was focused on the accessories and clothes so I only placed a dark green background and a light green in the center, finally I edited the drawing already finished to give it a better finish, increasing a little saturation and color adjustments until it was as I liked, I am very happy with the result, it was quite difficult this challenge for me, but I really fell in love with this version of Forest Healer that already in itself is beautiful, I hope you liked it.
