His sweet words and promises of eternal love turned into a nightmare of violence and abuse.

It started with scornful looks and hurtful comments that I overlooked. Then came the screams and blows that took away my dignity.

-It's your fault, you provoke me,” he justified himself while my skin was stained with bruises. Shame and fear prevented me from asking for help. Until the neighbor opened my eyes:

-No one deserves to live with a monster.

Those words were a balm for my broken heart. The night he almost killed me, something changed in me. An inner strength made me fight back and run barefoot to the neighbor's house to call the police.

Months later, the divorce brought relief but also concern for her new partner. Karma did its work when years later, she became his executioner.

Seeing him prostrate did not give me revenge, but the peace of knowing that I rebuilt my life away from the monster. No one else will have the power to harm me. Monsters exist, but we can face them.
