Today, I will share a battle that has all the strategy and none of the healing. With such adverse conditions, my opponent and I raised heat in the Silver League.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 32 and there are 2 summoners to choose from: Death and Nature.

Battle Rules:-

  • Silent Summoners: Summoners do not give off any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.

  • Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from monsters and summoners.

Keeping the mana cap and battle rules in mind, I decided to choose the only summoner that would meet all of my expectations and supply me with the high-ranking monsters.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy attackers).

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple).

Magic Attacker: Venari Bonesmith(Ability: Leech, Poison).

Ranged Attacker: Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike , Deathblow).

Blocked Melee Attacker: Corpse Fiend(No Ability).

My strategy is to hit him from the front while minor damage is done from the back in case he uses a healer or sneaks an attacker in the back. I put my amazing tank and its sidekick, Thug, to do high damage while my ranged attacker and the magic attacker would do slightly less damage than that. Their additions would cause me high overall damage. I used a monster in the back of my deck to punch back in case he used a sneak attacker.

The overall damage per round is 14 with a 1 HP increase. Adding in the damage from thorns and poison, it comes to 18 damage per round.

Now for the opposition's deck breakdown.

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy attackers).

Tank: Pelacor Deceiver(Ability: Flying).

Melee Attackers: Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple).

Magic Attackers: Venari Bonesmith(Ability: Leech), Revealer(Ability: Sun).

Ranged Attacker: Lira The Dark(Ability: Opportunity, Snare).

Blocked Melee Attacker: Carrion Shade(Ability: Flying).

His strategy was similar to mine. He also wanted to attack from the front, he used 2 monsters to hit me from the back and possibly from the middle of the deck. He used an opportunity attacker that would get the monster with the lowest HP and a sneak attacker to hit me from the back. He also used a stun user amidst his magic attacker that was sure to delay my tank's attacks while his tank would get the jump on me. He also used a blocked monster at the back of the deck as he expected me to use a sneak attacker.

His overall damage per round is 9 with a 1 HP increase. He had the ability to stun and that was a dangerous upper hand to have considering his strategy had a slight edge over mine as he could start to attack my weakest monster early into the game.

Major Events

The first monster to fall was my Carrion in the second turn of the battle.

Next, it was his Carrion that fell in the first third of the round.

And, at the end of the round, his tank fell while mine had over half it's HP.

In the first half of the round, his secondary tank fell while my sneak attacker was at his final HP and my tank was still going strong with HP just under half of the max.

In the next half of the battle, one of his magic attackers falls.

In the first half of the short round, my sneak attacker fell.

Later, my Arachne took down both his monsters in one fell swoop thanks to the trample ability.

Results

The number 1 thing to note is that my overall HP was significantly higher than his, therefore his damage per round was a key factor as to why he lost too soon. His strategy was on point, he only needed a healing factor or a high HP tank with other units attacking the same unit. That way, he could've breached the wall and burned through my troops.
