Un saludo amistoso queridos Hivers, me alegra estar nuevamente rockeando con ustedes en la semana 49 de Pukumundo. Esta vez he traído un fragmento de la icónica canción Stairway to Heaven de la banda estadounidense Led Zeppelin. Desde su publicación en 1971 esta se ha convertido en una de las canciones más querida por los fans del rock, así como de otras personas que no necesariamente se identifican con la cultura del rock o el metal, pues esta forma parte del imaginario musical a nivel global.

Fue compuesta por Jimmy Page y Robert Plant, el guitarrista y el cantante de la legendaria banda. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha sido reconocida como una de las mejores canciones de la historia del rock, así como el mejor solo de guitarra. Muchos creen que su letra trata sobre la eterna búsqueda de la esperanza, esa escalera al cielo que todos buscamos a lo largo de nuestra vida, sobre todo en los momentos de mayor adversidad.

Nunca había tocado esta canción, quise hacerlo cuando comencé a tocar guitarra y estaba muy joven, pero en ese entonces me pareció un poco complicada. Sin embargo aquí estoy varios años después, tocándola y solo me tomo unos minutos, creo que la canción se ha vuelto un poco más sencilla con los años ¿Será? O ¿seré yo quien se ha vuelto un poco mejor? No se sabe.

Friendly greetings dear Hivers, I'm glad to be rocking with you again in week 49 of Pukumundo. This time I have brought a snippet of the iconic song Stairway to Heaven by the American band Led Zeppelin. Since its release in 1971 this has become one of the most beloved songs by rock fans, as well as other people who do not necessarily identify with rock or metal culture, as this is part of the musical imaginary globally.

It was composed by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, the guitarist and singer of the legendary band. Throughout its history it has been recognized as one of the best songs in the history of rock, as well as the best guitar solo. Many believe that its lyrics are about the eternal search for hope, that stairway to heaven that we all seek throughout our lives, especially in times of greatest adversity.

I had never played this song before, I wanted to do it when I started playing guitar and I was very young, but at that time it seemed a bit complicated. Yet here I am several years later, playing it and it only takes me a few minutes, I think the song has become a little simpler over the years, could it be? Or is it just me who has gotten a little better? I don't know.
