We have 4 vehicles, it is a redundancy thing, if one breaks down we have another to get around with. Being 40 miles or so from a real grocery store and all the big box stores, is a great thing. Well, it is just falling apart here lately!
First, it was the Land Rover, it had a death wobble in the front end and the brakes just went south. So we got started on it and thought it was fixed. WRONG!
The Jeep had bushing that needed to be replaced so we did that and then we found out the transfer case went south because the bushing on the differential that we replaced made it not want to play nice.
We have a hard time finding mechanics that want to work on vehicles here because it is a small town and there is enough business for them that they can pick and choose what they want to do and if it is too hard or just do not want to do it they offer all the excuses in the world or give you a timeframe to fix it that is just not feasible. So most of the time, if it is something that we cannot do ourselves, we take it to the nearby town. We have a car trailer and had a truck that we could pull it with. Well, that truck went down so we are stuck trying to do it all here, which is fine, we can get through it slowly.
So we were down to my pickup and the step van which is full of material as I am working to build it out to travel. Which I cannot till it is done and there is a couple of vehicles here so that store trips can get done and they can get around.
Yesterday my pickup went down and I had to have it towed home because it is the only vehicle we had left. We thought we had the Land Rover fixed but when they went to come to get me yesterday the brakes failed on them and did not even get out of the driveway.
It has been a rough couple of months here and I kept a positive attitude. It is running thin right now. So back to trying to get things done. If this rain will stop so we can get it done. Ok, I am done bitching or complaining whatever you want to call it. Time to get back to work! Hope things are good for all reading this and hope all have a wonderful day! Talk to you next time!
