I am on several different groups on Facebook concerning nomad groups. I have learned several things over the last couple of months or so about these types of groups and it is a lot of reasons very few people stay active in those groups.
One of those groups is called Cobbtown Acres.
It is a DIY group that is sitting up to give a place for people to build out their vans, school buses, or whatever. It is a much-needed place for nomads, it is also a place where mechanical work can be done also. What I have discovered with this group is that rules for admins and a chosen few are different from those that just support a little that they can. It was not supposed to be a place for not posting things like GoFundMe fundraisers. The owner has posted one to help get a new place because he did not do the research and the county came in and shut him down. Now the chosen few post things like this because they are people that were there and helped it get started. Others that have needs are silenced on this issue because they helped in different ways like promoting through word of mouth and also posting a lot about them. They sat on the sidelines because in their eyes they did not help. This is wrong, the owner does not want to hear about any of this as he depends on the admins to handle all of this.
There are several groups like this on Facebook and they lose people that could be of help for those groups but they alienate them by deleting their posts, basically silencing them and not giving them a voice. This is not a good thing and I have noticed that the advantage of Hive is that your voice does not get really silenced you can get downvoted but unless it is just crazy and stupid that does not happen.
I see some things here on Hive that is not the best but it is the way it works most of the time. You see clicks here that a group of people that know each other voting and commenting on their posts. If you are looking for a big whale or a big account that is a curation account to upvote your post you have to get lucky or have to kiss butt to get in their good graces or maybe know someone that knows somebody and that is even not a sure thing.
Why am I making this post! Just to vent and get this crap off of my chest. For me, it festers and makes me a bitter person, and here I feel I can do this and it is all good, I am comfortable here on Hive. Being a veteran if I let the anger (not good for PTSD) get to me then I am no good to myself at all and this is a source of anger for me. So getting it out helps me feel better and calms my nerves. Rant Over!
Thank you for letting me vent and just helping me enjoy life much more. I am still working on getting the step van fixed I have got some of the parts needed to get the head gaskets replaced. I need to replace the hoses and the thermostat and radiator cap also. I think I have someone going to help me this weekend to get all of this done. He is a friend that works on cars but has a busy life and I am thankful he is taking some time out to help me with this. Of course, I am paying him to help but it is half of what a shop would have charged me and I can pay him what I can a little at a time. Good friends are few and far between. lets see how many people read my posts, If I make a proposal on Hive, who would vote it it? I will be promoting Hive while on the road and also trying to get people to start posting blogs, pictures and videos on 3Speak! Let me know in the comments.
