Hello Needle workers..
It's a new week and I hope we are all ready to start with positivity. Let's talk about Madam Theresa's colorful bubu.
Have you been in a situation whereby you're confused on what color to highlight for an outfit?
Most fabrics are so colorful and when we want to mix and match, we find it hard to highlight a particular color.
Madam Theresa brought in this colorful adire fabric confused on what color to highlight. I could understand her plight because she loved all the colors on the adire.
"Use red, no use yellow, no use white," She kept being skeptical about the color to highlight for the neckline.
As a fashion designer, I looked deeper with my fashion eyes and realized yellow was a perfect match for the adire, even though it had other colors.
My reason for this conclusion was her skin tone and the fact that yellow and green are two friendly colors, even though red and white arent bad either.
I imagined each color on the neckline and how it will sit on her skin, so I made my decision.
"Let's settle with Yellow, trust me you would love it!" I convinced her , I love the fact that she didn't oppose and so she trusted me.
The rest of the work was left on me. I measured her and began my cutting process. Bubus are my go-to styles for most of my clients, they suit all kinds of body shape and height.
Most of my clients are moms, they are on the big side and they love comfortable clothings. The young clients are also ordering Bubus lately and I think it's trendy.
Gone are those days where you have boring Bubus, Bubus now are really classy, colorful and stylish and I heard men wear bubus now.. Is that true?
Have you seen a man wearing bubu at the part of your world? If that's true then fashion has no rules haha.
Back to Madam Theresa's bubu, I used her hip measurements to cuy out the full bodice adding about 4 inches allowances to make it very free.
The neckline is very stylish, and the embroidery in the neckline is called the phoenix embroidery, it is very expensive.
It is a very unique form of embroidery even though we have other kinds of embroidery, it is durable and firm and secure lose ends.
After making the outfit, it came out exactly how I envisaged it. What do you think about the yellow color, would this bubu looked finer on red embroidery neckline or white?
Well, Madam Theresa picked up her outfit yesterday and she loved it, she didn't complain at all and it suit her so well and you know there's joy in a customer's satisfaction.
All images used are mine, outfit was cut and sewn by me.
