If one truly want to be happy in life, one must recognize that life is very fickle and so it should be lived unapologetically.
The guidelines or rules I have set for myself to live a meaningful life are just but a few.
You Only Live once, Live life to the fullest.
I have taken this guideline so personal that I try not to pause my life. I take risk, calculated one of course and my life is lived to the fullest.
There are times when I had to take tough decisions but when I remember that life is only lived once, it helps me to face it once and for all, and the result are always amazing.
A little illustration though to buttress my point is, imagining a man who visited a nice tourist attraction centre but felt so embarrassed to live in the moment, have fun and take nice shots. He began to be reserved and shy away from preserving the moment, only to get home and regret not having so much fun and taking nice shots.
I'm sure this little illustration drove a point why life should be lived to the fullest in all ramifications.
Happiness Is Free And It Comes From Within: Create It!
Sometimes, it feels like happiness depends on one's material possessions. Focusing too much on acquiring so much and on things we don't own makes us forget to count our own blessings. Realizing that happiness comes from within, and it cost no dime to be happy, helps me stay thankful and positive.
This guldeline has now helped me see how blessed I am in my little way. Observing that even people with so much often end up depressed if they do not see life from the right perspective or create happiness for themselves, "why do some rich peeps still want to end their life, if happiness comes from what we own?" A couple of times I've wondered and concluded that it begins from creating happiness. Material possessions will come and go and anyone who let their life revolve around it, must know that when such possessions go either by chance or circumstances, they end up being miserable.
Happiness emanates from building meaningful connections, letting go of resentment, staying positive, grateful and doing things that truly makes me fulfilled and happy.
Be Yourself
I don't know how to fake it. I mean my lifestyle, personality, and the likes just to impress anyone. I am not one who seeks validation from others, I live my life authentically.
Show me one who is without flaws in this world and I will bow to his/ her Royal majesty. Everyone has their imperfect trait but sadly, many people still paint a perfect life or picture to fit in.
I believe there is someone out there who loves me for who I am, my flaws and imperfections makes me unique from a random person who looks like me.
I remember a friend told me how she ended up being my friend, when she noticed how real I was in a world where many people are constantly faking it. Some fake their accent, their looks, their personality, lifestyle just to conform to societal norms, and this steals their peace of mind as it add more weight to the pressure they are already facing in life.
These few guidelines has helped me live a meaningful life and I owe it to myself to stay positive and happy until the very end.
