Take a look at Anna's civil wedding dress..my best girl is getting hitched and I am so honored to be her outfit plug.

Anna and I have been friends for over 6 years and the funny thing was how we met, we met at a wedding, and I was the chief bridesmaid, she came over after the service to compliment my outfit and I smiled so widely.

According to her, my smile won her over, she loved my diastema and viola, she asked for my number, and friendship began.

It took her a few months to believe I made the bridesmaids outfit for that particular occasion because to her, the outfit were perfectly sewn and too good to be locally made.

Well, it is what it is, sometimes I feel great to find out people hardly believe I made some designs simply because it looks too good to be true, it shows the depth of my skill but other times I get pissed off like why can't you just believe I made the dress myself?

No dress ever fell from the sky, it was firstly sketched by someone then cut before other process took place, so what's there not to be believe?

One evening after making an outfit for one of my client I posted the outfit on one of my social media account and I also posted the behind the scenes which made Anna to leave a thoughtful comment.

"Amie, it's today I believe you are really a talented designer.. I don't know when it will be, just be assured that my wedding dress will be sewn by you!" The comment made me laugh and I felt good though.

I've been making regular outfits for her and she's been rocking them since that encounter, for over 6 years now and finally, her words have come to pass.

Annna will be getting legally married on the 31st of August and I have made her civil wedding dress.

I enjoyed making the dress and I was stunned to know she wasn't a fan of white dresses, although she would be using a white wedding dress for her (religious wedding which will be held in the church).

Let's talk about the making of the dress, it is a cashmere fabric and the color is very close to burgundy.

The cashmere fabric is usually used to make official outfits like pants and suits.

The style was chosen by her and she trusted me to add a touch of difference.

I used four buttons and a zipper as fasteners, I also used ribbon to pipe the hem of the dress neatly.

It is a princess dart turtle neck outfit, the half cut has a slant which made it look like a wrap dress.

The fabric is so easy to sew and it took me two days to make, because the first day I started was at noon, I cut it that day and started that day but because it was almost late, I stopped halfway.

The next day was used to finish it up, adding the zipper, sleeve, ironing and ensuring it's perfect.

The moment I sent the images of Anna's dress to her, she screamed in excitement, she will be coming over this evening to pick it up and I can't wait to see how beautiful she would look on the dress.

One thing I am sure of is, this dress will bring in more clients and that all we pray for, to be known and seen everywhere.
