Mood booster with breakfast meal.
Colorful and delightful.
Waiting for breakfast at the hotel is the most enjoyable activity. I am always curious about the breakfast menus provided by the hotels where I stay. Of course, they have their own taste standards.
This time I stayed at the Swiss Belinn Hotel in Medan City. I did breakfast at ”Swiss Bistro” which is in the hotel lobby. Come with me to see what food I enjoyed during breakfast at the hotel restaurant, to be exact ”Swiss Bistro”.
”Swiss Bistro”
Located on the first floor, this hotel restaurant is also open to the public if apart from breakfast time. Not too wide, but comfortable enough and doesn't feel noisy.
The design at ”Swiss Bistro” is quite modern. And I'm curious about what the breakfast menu has to offer. To be honest, I didn't expect more because the Swiss Belinn Hotel is not as luxurious as the five-star hotels I've been to before.
So of course there will be differences in taste, also the type of dish they serve will not be too varied compared to five-star hotels. That's for sure because in terms of the cost of lodging per night is a stark contrast.
Selecting Noodles as Maincourse
We can choose several dishes for the main course. There is rice, vermicelli, or potatoes. For that time, I chose a combination of potatoes and vermicelli.
For side dishes, there is chayote mixed with carrot with coconut milk sauce. Comes with salted egg, also fish with sweet and spicy sauce.
I did not expect the combination that was created to produce such beautiful harmony, exceeding my expectations. Indeed, it looks like simple menus, but with the right choice of menu pairs, it will be a perfect combo :).
The legibility of the salted egg is also another level of complement. You have to try the salted egg mixed noodles. Oh, wait, the combination of sauces from the side dishes also has an important effect on the overall taste of the final dish.
For extra energy, I purposely added omelet to my breakfast menu. Perfect!
VEGGIES SALAD
”Swiss Bistro” also provides fresh salads. I also chose some veggies with a thousand island sauce. I can enjoy this vegetable salad as a single food, or as a compliment when I eat the noodles I mentioned earlier.
The vegetables of my choice are purple cabbage, lettuce, corn, mushrooms, and also the greens which I forgot the name of.
The most important thing is that I am quite satisfied with breakfast at ”Swiss Bistro” which is a free service from Swiss Belinn Hotel.
DESSERTS
After finishing with my main course, I chose another meal that I could enjoy on that sunny morning. There are bananas served in hot coconut milk sauce with brown sugar.
Besides bananas, these sweet desserts are served with slices of fragrant and sweet jackfruit.
The taste of the banana itself is sweet with a slightly sour mix, typical of the type of banana that is made for the “Kolak” desserts.
For drinks, I chose orange juice as my drink starter. There are many drinks provided at ” Swiss Bistro”, including coffee, tea, as well as fresh milk.
That was about the colorful breakfast that I enjoyed at ” Swiss Bistro” as part of the hotel service, Swiss Belinn Hotel, in Medan City. Tasted delicious, also exceeded my expectations.
