A freelance is not necessarily completely free. Instead, we have to work very professionally and must avoid 'working just by following a good mood'. Because if we only work when we are in a good mood, then we will not support ourselves from that work. So, professionalism is number one.
If there are a lot of things I have to do and can't postpone them, I will go to the cafe closest to my house. I do this to relieve boredom and also keep me focused. Meanwhile, if I continuously work at home for a long time, it will make me unfocused. In fact, I was dictated to want to cook. Lol.
That's why you often see me posting my activities at the restaurant. This is not about eating but also while working and looking for new places to experience new experiences.
Tonight I worked online from a favorite cafe near my house. This cafe is my and my husband's favorite because they are open until 3 am. So, I don't need to rush for time if I want to finish work that night.
To accompany me to check my work, I ordered a glass of foamy tea with egg pancakes. I need to check some new users on hive and make sure that the new accounts are the new real ones, not spam accounts. Also, curating some good posts to get more attention on the project that I'm working on.
FOAMY TEA
It cannot be denied that I need caffeinated drinks to keep me focused on work. So, I rely on foamy tea this time. Have you ever heard of foamy tea before?
In my opinion, foamy tea is quite popular in countries influenced by Indian culture, such as Indonesia and Malaysia. It is called foamy tea because the top of the tea has a lot of foam when served.
Why does this drink foam? Because the process of making tea mixed with savory milk is by pouring it with one container positioned higher than the other. The process of mixing tea and milk by pouring them alternately is what will produce foam on the surface of the glass when this drink is served.
The pouring process is also called "pull/tarik" in Indonesian. That's why this drink menu is also called teh Tarik in Indonesian.
What I like about this foamy drink is the savory sensation and unique taste of the tea leaves that cannot be expressed in words. And, this my favorite cafe serves a delicious foamy tea. Best served with iced or hot foamy tea. Meanwhile, my favorite is hot foamy tea. I never order the cold version of this drink.
EGG PANCAKES / MARTABAK TELUR
Have you ever tried egg pancakes? Similar to an omelette. It's just that for the egg filling, several pieces of chicken or beef are added according to the menu options available.
Then, these egg pancakes are cut into pieces and served with curry gravy and fresh shallots. For egg types, there is a choice of duck eggs or chicken eggs. I chose duck eggs because they contain healthier ingredients than chicken eggs. FYI, duck eggs in our area are produced from organic farms. Meanwhile, chicken eggs are mostly produced from non-organic farms that use lots of drugs.
My favorite way to enjoy these egg pancakes is by adding a piece of fresh shallot, then dipping it in curry gravy. Just perfect snacks that can fill my stomach.
Overall, I finished my work almost at twelve in the evening and I was relieved that everything was resolved. In the morning, I want to wake up a little later to get enough sleep. Also, I need to reschedule my work so that my sleep at other times is not disturbed.
The delicious taste of foamy tea and egg pancakes was still ringing in my head as soon as I got home. It seems like I'll be dreaming about my menus in my sleep. Well, we'll see. :) see you, foodies. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.
