Talking about sustainable design is very interesting. I like people who always innovate with recycling. Especially for things related to everyday life.
When I stopped by a hotel, I found something interesting that was worth sharing here. About how this hotel places many small details related to sustainable design. I hope you enjoy the design that I share this time. Stay tuned.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Industrial design is often applied to cafes, but lately it has also been applied to homes. Indeed, industrial design is related to the use of industrial goods that allow these goods to have a sustainable usage time that can be recycled.
Industrial design is indeed closely related to sustainable design. Because, the nature of the application of the use of recycled goods into something with new and more beautiful value.
In this hotel room, we can see a fairly strong industrial design theme. The furniture used is dominated by iron materials.
The most striking thing is the use of lamps. First, on the hanging lamp. Using iron material, of course for reasons of durability. With a minimal design, also colors that reflect the typical industrial design.
Not only on the hanging lamp, in this place also uses a table lamp that is predominantly made of iron. It's just that, to give the impression of art and beauty, bright color elements are added, bright blue.
Meanwhile, the walls are given unfinished walls. With the application of rough cement patterned wallpaper, and wood motif wallpaper.
To add an aesthetic impression, a little abstract pattern is made on the wall with a striking orange color. A brilliant play of colors.
On the other side, wide glass is used to reflect the room to feel more spacious.
And on the other side, using curtains with motifs that are connected to the color of the wallpaper. So that the overall motif is still beautiful to look at and does not make the eyes dizzy.
SAY NO TO PLASTIC
There is something more interesting than just those industrial stuffs. I am focused on the tea corner. If usually in hotel rooms only drinks are provided in plastic packaging, this time it is different.
This is the first time I have found a hotel that is willing to use glass packaging on drink bottles. Indeed, this will take more time, especially to refill drinks into bottles in the hotel room compared to just using disposable plastic bottles.
But the positive impact that can be very influential if many places can implement the same thing. Indeed, there is an additional cost that must be spent on glass bottles, but it is very useful for sustainable living.
Next, there is a wooden spoon to complement stirring drinks. Really interesting. We can buy a wooden spoon, instead of a plastic spoon for travel. In my opinion, a wooden spoon like this is also more durable than a plastic spoon that is easily broken. And of course it is healthier for the body because there is no risk of plastic contamination to the body.
This sustainable concept can of course be applied in our daily lives, especially for our drinking water bottles. It is indeed a bit expensive to buy glass bottles, but it is also healthier than using plastic drinking bottles which are also not durable.
We have to think again before buying furniture and other household equipment. Prioritize durability and long-term health factors. Because we have the right to live in sustainability.
