Have you ever heard of Coconut Apple also known as Sprouted Coconut? Maybe this will be strange for those of you who have never seen coconut in fresh condition directly. Coconut is often referred to as a tree of life because every part of the coconut tree can be used for every need in life. Starting from food, building materials, planting media materials in the garden, and more.
So, this time I will discuss Coconut Apple which is often referred to as the initial phase of the life of the coconut tree. We can plant coconuts that are already sprouted.
Actually, Coconut Apple is obtained from sprouted coconut. Actually, it is quite difficult to find sprouted coconut to get Coconut Apple which is delicious to eat.
If in a special coconut nursery plantation, the sprouted coconut usually has grown tall coconut shoots and is ready to be planted. This makes the condition of the Coconut Apple in the sprouted coconut taste bland because it has absorbed all the coconut water inside.
My trip this time is about finding again the Coconut Apple that I have had difficulty finding. I have some documentation that I collected, before finally sharing it in this blog. Stay tuned!
Small Coconut Apple
In the first documentation, I have a coconut that looks like it has a small sprout at the top of the coconut. I concluded that the sprouted coconut already had a Coconut Apple inside. Well, my opinion is not completely wrong.
When I cut open the coconut to find out inside the coconut, I saw there was a Coconut Apple there. However, the size is still very small. I had to pry this small Coconut Apple to get it in my hand.
Coconut Apple which is still small has a yellow color on the outside and has a crunchy texture on the outer skin. But inside has a white color with a soft texture.
The taste of the small Coconut Apple is very sweet! This condition means that the coconut is not very old and makes the coconut water still taste sweet. Meanwhile, if the coconut is very old, the taste of coconut water will be bland and no longer pleasant to drink.
Big Coconut Apple
I didn't stop there. I'm increasingly curious to find a bigger Coconut Apple inside a sprouted coconut. So, I tried to look in the garden behind my mother-in-law's house. Whoooooa! I felt very happy with what I found.
In the back garden of my mother-in-law's house, there are several coconut trees. Old coconuts often fall from the coconut trees. I found a sprouted coconut that has long shoots at the top of the coconut.
I also asked my husband to peel the coconut. After the coconut is peeled, here we can see a fairly large coconut. I hope it contains a large Coconut Apple too.
I felt nervous when my husband split this coconut. My eyes sparkle with joy! It turns out there is a big Coconut Apple!
This is the appearance of the big Coconut Apple. the color is not too yellow. Also, the outside has a crunchy outer shell-like cracked texture.
The inside of the big Coconut Apple looks exactly like cotton. With lots of water content in it. When I bit into the Coconut Apple, it turned out that it wasn't too sweet.
Hmm, I think it's because the Coconut Apple is too big and the coconut is in the phase of getting ready to be used as a seed for planting. But whatever it was, I was satisfied and finished the Coconut Apple. Nothing can be wasted because I have worked hard to wait for this moment.
For me, Coconut Apple is an edible gift from nature. That's because Coconut Apple contains rich vitamin C which is a powerful antioxidant for boosting the immune system. Coconut Apple is also good as a quick source of energy because it contains natural sugar.
Apart from that, I still remember when I was little, we consumed Coconut Apple to cool our bodies when the weather in our area was very hot. That's because Coconut Apple contains cooling properties that can balance body temperature.
So, if you find sprouted coconut, don't throw it away. Try to split the coconut. Maybe you will find Coconut Apple which is delicious and sweet :)
As a suggestion, make sure you consume Coconut Apple fresh right away and avoid storing them in the refrigerator. The fresher it is, the better.
