Anti mainstream is the best way to scream, to get attention without loud.
What's the most unique feature you've seen in a coffee shop you've been to? Of course, it is very nice to find a coffee shop that has a non-mainstream design.
Unique design and rarely found in other buildings, it will make it easier for us to remember that place. Also chances are we will come to that place more often. So when it is applied to places to eat, coffee shops, or even tourist attractions, it will have a positive impact on bringing in visitors. With an important note, it must be supported by good service.
Well, this time I will discuss a coffee shop which has become my favorite coffee shop list. It was named “Inter Coffee USU”.
“Inter Coffee USU”
“Inter Coffee USU” is located in the area of the University of North Sumatra, Medan City, Indonesia.
In the past, USU was the place where I studied to take my bachelor's degree. Well, I know there is a cafe on the campus site from my friend, @firayumni's post.
Incidentally, when I visited the city of Medan, finally “Inter Coffee USU” was a special place that I wanted to visit.
I came on a weekday, and it wasn't noon yet. It was a nice advantage because the place wasn't crowded yet. So I can take pictures of the atmosphere inside which is not yet crowded by visitors.
A Pool For As A Focus View
With the concept of a pool behind the building, which is in an outdoor area, this coffee creates a different impression from the coffee shops in general here.
To be honest, for me this is the first coffee shop that has a pool, and is not part of the hotel building.
Elsewhere, I usually find building features like this only in places connected to hotel buildings.
This is a much appreciated design. Currently, this coffee shop is also popular among young people. Including me, who is very curious and excited about the presence of “Inter Coffee USU”.
Indeed, this pool is not made for swimming purposes. After all, who wouldn't be shy about swimming in a place where people visit? It will be busier than a normal swimming pool, and also not conducive to swimming.
The pool is indeed intended to add a source of tranquility to the place, and become the focal point of visitors' attention.
In addition to the pool, the other side of the building also has a unique design and is indeed suitable as a photo spot for young people who like to create content. :) (oops, like me).
In the building next to the pool, there is a tall building with a modern themed concept. It looks like an Arabic accent, with mosaic patterns which are dominated by white.
Good Vibes Only
Well, speaking of good vibes, the interior design of this cafe also has fun vibes.
Dominated by materials that are currently hits, using a lot of elements of iron, aluminum, as well as elements of unfinished cement.
The interior of “Inter Coffee USU” has a fairly complex theme because it has several separate spaces.
Then one more thing, there is a bolder space, with a quote lamp that emphasizes the pop element. Coupled with sofas that are also brightly colored.
And a little touch of plant elements to make the space have soul. Although, the plant is an artificial plant, not really a real plant. :)
Overall, I like the concept of “Inter Coffee USU” which is not like a coffee shop in general. That's enough to steal the hearts of young people with a pool for the outdoor section, and pop design for the interior.
I will be very happy to come back to this place if I visit Medan city. What do you think about the building concept of this coffee shop?
