The world is indeed an amazing diverse place full of stark contrasts; winter in the other part of the world, the Northern Hemisphere and summer in the Southern Hemisphere. @shasta's Shadow Hunter's Contest Entry titled Frozen Shadows demonstrated the extreme freezing weather conditions of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
I love @shasta's amazing shadow photos of the surreal beautiful frozen ice and so becoming I actually imagined myself standing warmly rugged up admiring the scene.
Then afterwards I happened to be in my photo library and saw this beach shadow photo taken a couple of weeks ago of my son with his 2 boys. While I looked at them and the shadows my mind flashed to cold dark Alaska and @shasta's photos.
Instead of ice I was looking at water. While the shadows of his dad and brother are very clearly seen on the wet sand, the 4 year old's shadow is melded into the splash.

But, unlike the long lasting wintery shadows off the ice, the shadow in the water splash is gone in a flash. It is very fluid in the heat of our summer. A little bit of ice wold be a most welcomed relief.
