Please bear with me as I am in a pondering thoughtful philosophising mood. Is it just me or is there something inexplicably magical about flowers?
When did you see and feel the beauty of flowers? (Perhaps you never have, now that is a sad thought.)
When did you hear them whisper softly in your heart?
Maybe you started randomly picking flowers at 2 years old attracted by the shape and colour. Perhaps you grew up with pretty colourful flowers in the garden and watched your mother filling the house with vases full of flowers? Or perhaps receiving a bunch of flowers was the start of your love affair?
Be prepared for a forever love affair with the beauty, love and appreciation of nature's many blooms. It just happens, it did with me and I am still attempting to explain how and when. Bloom magic has to be what flowers are all about.
All the while petals and leaves radiate goodwill and happiness into kitchens, lounge rooms and bedroom working their magic, as we soak up the energy as much as we can. Getting up close and personal provides that extra little boost.
Giving is made so worthwhile when seeing the immediate smile light up a face, tears in the eyes, heartfelt gratitude expressed. The magic of flowers, nature's miraculous gift, a little gesture easy and sweet. It is the contagious boost, both addictive and heart warming.
Flowers are highly versatile for all kinds of reasons and situations; for joyful wedding celebrations, when we go to dinner, when babies enter the world, when a friends gets sick or for more sombre occasions when friends/ family pass over to the other side. Flowers are apt for any and all occasions or for no occasion at all.
And most remarkably the growing, arrangement and giving off flowers are not a modern day phenomena at all. The Egyptians, Romans and Greeks grew and tended flowers a lot of centuries ago. All through history flowers have contributed greatly to people's lives, we are just continuing the long tradition in today's world.
