Hoy me paso nuevamente por aquí esta vez para explicarles como escojo los premios y snacks de Ollie, mi cachorra.

Los snacks pueden traer grandes beneficios para nuestras mascotas ya que no solo sirven de recompensa para crear buenos hábitos, sino que muchos de ellos pueden reducir el sarro entre sus dientes y por lo tanto el mal aliento y además al estar un rato entretenidos masticando reducen su estrés.

Today I'm stopping by again this time to explain how I choose the treats and snacks for Ollie, my puppy.
Snacks can bring great benefits to our pets as they not only serve as a reward to create good habits, but many of them can reduce tartar between their teeth and therefore bad breath and also to be a while entertaining chewing reduce their stress.

Lo más importante al escoger un snack siempre va a ser asegurarse de que esté preparado con ingredientes 100% naturales, yo voy a hablar en base a mi experiencia con perros y gatos que también suelen ser las especies más comunes que se tienen en casa.

Los perros y gatos (sobre todo los gatos) son especies estrictamente carnívoras, por lo que hay que asegurarse de incluir proteína animal en casi un 80% de su alimentación. También hay que saber que los perros y los gatos no procesan la sal, ni el azúcar y estos le hacen mucho daño, por lo tanto hay evitarlos 100%. Respetar su naturaleza tendrá como finalidad una mejor calidad de vida, huesos fuertes, cabellos brillantes y una vida mucho más larga. Por esta razón debemos evitar los alimentos ultraprocesados como son las croquetas comunes.

Pero ¿Cómo asegurarte de que los snacks que compres sean de la mejor calidad? Pues muy fácil, simplemente buscas en el empaque los ingredientes, un producto no ultraprocesado tiene una lista de ingredientes muy corta. Hay que tener en cuenta que los ingredientes que figuran de primeros en la lista significa que es lo que contiene en mayor proporción, mientras que los ingredientes que se encuentran al final son los que usan en menor proporción. Ahora les daré algunos ejemplos con productos que encontré en el supermercado:

Keep in mind that the ingredients at the top of the list mean that they contain the highest proportion, while the ingredients at the end are those that are used in smaller proportions. Now I will give you some examples with products I found in the supermarket:

En este primer ejemplo podemos ver que nos ofrecen snacks deshidratados a base de corazón de pollo y pato y como pueden ver en el cuadrito de la derecha superior en sus ingredientes solo indican "corazón de pollo y pato" esto significa que es un producto sin añadidos artificiales y perfecto para nuestros peludos, ya que solo les traerá beneficios.

In this first example we can see that they offer us dehydrated snacks based on chicken and duck heart and as you can see in the box on the top right in their ingredients only indicate "chicken and duck heart" this means that it is a product without artificial additives and perfect for our furry, as it will only bring them benefits.

Igual pasa con estas patas de pollo deshidratadas, que es lo único que indica en sus ingredientes.

The same goes for these dehydrated chicken feet, which is the only thing indicated in their ingredients.

Ahora con este producto de la marca "mimaskot" podemos ver que la lista de ingredientes es mucho más larga y contiene en primer lugar harina de trigo, las harinas de trigo tienen un alto índice glucémico y al entrar al organismo de nuestras mascotas se convierte prácticamente en azúcar, lo que será muy perjudicial para ellos. Si vas a dar algún tipo de harina a tu perro lo recomendable es que sea una harina natural como lo es la harina de avena. A parte de la harina este producto tiene ingredientes como colorantes y sal. En fin, si no quieres hacer daño a tu peludo no deberías darle este tipo de premios.

Now with this product of the brand "mimaskot" we can see that the list of ingredients is much longer and contains first of all wheat flour, wheat flour has a high glycemic index and when it enters the body of our pets it practically turns into sugar, which will be very harmful for them. If you are going to give some type of flour to your dog, it is recommended that it is a natural flour such as oatmeal. Apart from the flour, this product has ingredients such as colorants and salt. Anyway, if you don't want to harm your dog, you shouldn't give him this kind of treats.

El snack que más le compro a mi cachorra es el "dentitoy" pues normalmente agrego en su dieta viseras de pollo y proteína animal, así que busco algo que ayude a mantener sus dientes limpios y este funciona muy bien. Además, está hecho de piel de vacuno y una pequeña proporción de carne, lo que está perfecto.

The snack I buy the most for my puppy is the "dentitoy" as I usually add chicken visors and animal protein in her diet, so I look for something that helps keep her teeth clean and this one works very well. Plus, it's made from beef skin and a small proportion of meat, which is perfect.
