Mid90's is a movie set in the 90's written and directed by Jonah Hill, and produced by one of my favorite production companies A24.

The film tells the story of Stivie, a boy who is entering his teenage years and is starting to feel a bit lonely as his mother works all day and also doesn't have the best relationship with his impetuous older brother.

Stivie is attracted to a group of skater boys, most of them much older than him, but this does not seem to be an impediment for him to gradually integrate with them.

Throughout the film we see how this stormy but solid friendship develops and how Stivie leaves her innocence behind and enters the world of alcohol, drugs and girls.

All this may sound like a tragedy, but it is a film with which you connect quite a lot and Jonah Hill transmits us that nostalgia he feels when remembering this time, even the film is shot with a 16 mm camera, which is not the one usually used for big projects, but it gives us that retro effect immersing us in a more realistic way to these years. The little actors in this movie do an incredible job and although their actions are probably very exaggerated (or not) you can't help but feel identified since in adolescence we are often quite rebellious and make countless mistakes, but we are always surrounded by friends who are just as lost and misunderstood as we are, but who serve as support and create an environment where we will never feel judged.
