This is nothing to brag about, I've been part of the Hive ecosystem for 5 years now, and believe I have never participated in the Hive Power Up Day before a few days ago. This is not because I didn't want to, but mainly because most of the Hive Power I managed to amass since I've been part of this obscure, digital money-generating, anti-establishment fighting, pseudo-anarchy supporting, deep-web-money-laundering relating, taxation-is-theft promulgating, inflation-kills-economies believing, conspiracy-theories accepting, self-definition living, off-grid-mentality acquiring, revolutionary-mindset thinking, North Korean crotchet weaving, Latvian-Origami making, Norwegian Guerilla training, Peruvian Salt Water drinking, Indonesian Monkey-training, ecosystem, was back when I was posting about traveling off-the-beaten-path, being half of the OCD witness, and providing liquidity to OCDB.
At one point, I had around 90k Hive Power. Not a lot for some of you, perhaps something beyond imagination for some others in the back, but I actually never powered it up, because my Hive Power was doing other stuff for the Hive Ecosystem. I built my own account's Hive Power through post rewards, and I grew my alt accounts - no, I'm not telling you which ones are those - through several trades I've made.
I'm not close to my ATH hive bag, not even close, perhaps a little bit shy of halfsies of what I used to have when anomad was anomad.
But I realized I had never joined a single power up day, not even once, because out of the few times I actually powered up, I did it willy nilly with no intention of doing it on a specific time of the month, I just powered up when I had the Hive.
A few days ago I had some extra crypto liquid and I was debating myself between going full force into altcoins and staking that bag into the USDC-PHBD farm in the Polycub ecosystem, buying some shady altcoins, or powering up Hive. Since I already have a big position in Polycub, and since pretty much the first rule when you are investing - not only for crypto investments, but investing in general - is to spread your risk by having multiple positions, and since the altcoin market is about to boom or bust depending on the token, I decided to go for my first crypto love, the one that has let me down several times but has also increased my love for the cryptospace some other times: Hive.
I didn't even realize it was HPUD when I powered up 20k Hive, I just noticed I did it exactly when I had to when I received a Badge notification for participating in July's #HPUD. I guess you can imagine my surprise and at the same time, the smile on my face, I suppose it was meant to be that I powered up on HPUD five years and two months after I made my first post.
This is not a flex, I know 20k HP takes you nowhere regarding post rewards, but it does increase my reward allocation influence in a very nice way, I can finally significantly reward comments on my posts and give back some of the love I've received over the past years - back when I had a blocktrades delegation, and when I had tens of thousands of HP, all of my votes were committed to community initiatives during the whole time I had a stake that mattered, until now.
I wish I could say I am close to my Hive Power goal established by myself four years ago, which is to hold 100k HP, but I am not, there's still a long way to go, I just don't have any more liquid to put into Hive anymore, and I not only aim to have 100k HP, I also aim to have 250k Leo at one point, so now you can imagine how far I am from those goals, which I am obviously not going to meet by just posting, not even in 100 years, which in turn takes me to my other bags' situation: I'm investing in other coins that I believe can boom or bust and give me some buying leverage against Hive - which some times takes a few weeks to pump after any bull market begins - so we'll see how that goes.
In the meantime, congratulate me - or not, as I said this is not a flex, I should've been part of HPUD a long, long time ago - because I now have some reward allocation to give back to the community what it has been selflessly given to me.
