Will ending wars, and the use of violence in the pursuit of political goals, improve the lot of the average human?
Well, it's complicated.
It will definitely lengthen the lives of those that would have died otherwise, but it will create new problems, like extreme boredom, lack of manly values, bullies will find life under a non-violent regime intolerable(we will likely have to kill them), there is quite a list of unintended consequences that ending rule by force will create.
Some of them will be quite surprising and not foreseeable from a perspective still within that paradigm.
