Hello Pinmapple!

Kind regards.

The photographs that precede the following post are photographs that I made in the Plaza Bolivar of Barquisimetano, this square is a work inaugurated in 1930 in commemoration of the birth of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

It is located in the historic center of the city, specifically on Calle 26 between Carreras 16 and 17, in front of the Palace of Justice. This symbolic square represents the Hero Bolivar who was in charge of liberating Venezuela from the Kingdom of Spain. But this square is also part of our history and culture. It is a synonym of patriotic heritage and nationalism, which is based on the Bolivarian Doctrine of emancipation. Homeland and freedom, Morals and lights.

As part of the celebration of 211 years of Venezuela's declaration of independence, I want to tell you a little about this day and at the same time show you some pictures of the Bolivar square. Which represents the main space for the homage of patriotic dates in the city.

Venezuela was born on July 5, 1811, after the solemn acts and the constitution of the supreme board of Caracas on April 19, 1810, the church descendants of Spanish born Caracas sought to maintain loyalty to King Ferdinand VII, which had been captured by Bonaparte, to achieve the support of the kingdom of England is appointed a diplomatic commission composed of General Simon Bolivar, Don Andres Bello and Luis Lopez Mendez the mission was clear was to inform the British crown of the solidarity of Venezuela to King Ferdinand VII.

This mission was known to be a failure, since Bolivar had long since sworn from Monte Sacro in Rome to liberate Venezuela from Spanish rule.

Bolivar, while in England, holds a diplomatic meeting with the Marquis of Wellesley and with firm ideals of patriotism and freedom, the possibility of achieving independence appears to him. On his part, Bolivar also contacted Francisco de Miranda to return to Venezuela with the intention of forming an independence movement alien to the interests of Ferdinand VII.

Bolivar and Miranda disembark in the Guaira, the winds of freedom and independence are rumored.

On April 19, 1810 the first congress of Venezuela is formed by 30 deputies of the conservative junta, who swear loyalty to King Ferdinand and establish the supreme junta of Caracas for the protection of the King's rights.

On April 19, 1811, while the mantuanos were celebrating the first year of the congress, the independence patriots forced an extraordinary session to be held on July 3, in this session Bolivar took the floor and in the middle of his speech he spoke of the importance of detaching Venezuela from the Kingdom of Spain, putting the rights of the people of Venezuela before the rights of Ferdinand VII and Bonaparte.

July 5, 1811, in the middle of the extraordinary session of the congress of Venezuela and in representation of the 7 provinces that belonged to the General Captaincy of Venezuela, the country is declared free from the Spanish yoke and ignites the emancipation and libertarian spark throughout Latin America. Venezuela will be remembered as the first country in Latin America to declare its independence.
