Este cinco de Julio Venezuela jugó su último juego de la copa America 2024 contra Canada, y me parece perfecto hablar de la pasión que ha creado la vinotinto por la selección. Siendo un juego tan importante como el que se jugó este viernes (clasificar a semi final de la copa america), es incluso hasta poético que se juegue el día de la independencia del país, pero, aunque la Vinotinto haya sido eliminada en ese juego, se nota que jugaron con todo el corazón y han recibido el apoyo de no solo los venezolanos sino también de muchos países hermanos e incluso de otros continentes, quienes se han dado cuenta del avance que ha tenido la selección a nivel futbolístico.
Apoyar a la selección durante toda mi vida ha sido tarea un poco difícil, pero ahora estoy sintiendo tanta alegría y satisfacción que ahora se pueda ver a la selección jugando de forma tan linda. La idea no es crecerse y pensar que la vinotinto justo ahora es mejor que las demás selecciones, pero es cierto que desde que llegó el Bocha Batista los jugadores tienen una nueva mentalidad, y es que son igual de buenos que los otros equipos, dándole así la mística que podría tener el Madrid, por ejemplo. Luchando los juegos hasta el último minuto y pensando que así vayan perdiendo por mucho se puede remontar, es un equipo que ahora tiene corazón y junto con la plantilla, la fanaticada también está igual de emocionada.
Esto también se debe por el increíble marketing que ha tenido la selección este último año, con podcast, canciones, videos, coreografías, entrevistas y colaboraciones. Adidas volvió a juntarse con la selección y para más diversión, la lluvia de memes ha sido inmensa. De igual forma, quién ha seguido la selección desde hace unos meses tiene que haberse dado cuenta de que la ideología cambió, y en parte se debe a que han encontrado una identidad propia tanto para mostrarse al mundo como selección, cómo para jugar al futbol. En tiempos pasados han querido parecerse a Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay o incluso Colombia, pero estos últimos partidos han hecho lo posible para demostrar que la vinotinto es Venezuela y lo grandioso que puede ser Venezuela en futbol y colectivamente.
Agradezco estar en un momento en dónde no importa la hora en la que entre en las redes sociales, las personas se muestran orgullosas de Venezuela como país y cómo selección de futbol. Me tienen que comprender, porque a pesar de todo lo que ha pasado, yo desde que tengo memoria he sido muy patriota, estoy feliz de poder compartir con casi cualquier persona a mi alrededor esa pasión por la selección, ese amor por el país. Es un sentimiento duro, en el partido contra Jamaica el estadio estaba lleno de vinotintos, y se siente agridulce, se siente bien pensar en la unidad que le ha dado la selección al país y a los migrantes, a esa esperanza y fe que tienen a pesar de que algunos puedan decir que es “pan y circo”, pero a su vez se siente triste ver como por la situación del país los venezolanos están tan lejos de su hogar, tan dispersos; sin embargo, con la vinotinto han encontrado otra forma de reconectar con su hogar, con su cultura, con su fe.

This July 5th Venezuela played its last game of the Copa America 2024 against Canada, and I think it is perfect to talk about the passion that the Vinotinto has created for the national team. Being such an important game as the one played this Friday (to qualify to the semi final of the America Cup), it is even poetic that it is played on the country's independence day, but, although the Vinotinto has been eliminated in that game, it is noticeable that they played with all their heart and have received the support of not only Venezuelans but also of many brother countries and even from other continents, who have realized the progress that the national team has had at a soccer level.
Supporting the national team throughout my life has been a difficult task, but now I am feeling so much joy and satisfaction that now you can see the national team playing so beautifully. The idea is not to grow up and think that the vinotinto is just now better than the other national teams, but it is true that since Bocha Batista arrived the players have a new mentality, and that is that they are just as good as the other teams, giving them the mystique that Madrid, for example, could have. Fighting the games until the last minute and thinking that even if they are losing by a lot they can come back, it is a team that now has heart and along with the staff, the fans are just as excited.
This is also due to the incredible marketing that the national team has had this past year, with podcasts, songs, videos, choreographies, interviews and collaborations. Adidas teamed up with the national team again and for more fun, the rain of memes has been immense. Likewise, those who have been following the national team for a few months must have noticed that the ideology has changed, and this is partly due to the fact that they have found their own identity, both to show themselves to the world as a national team and to play soccer. In the past they have wanted to look like Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay or even Colombia, but these last few games they have done their best to show that the vinotinto is Venezuela and how great Venezuela can be in soccer and collectively.
I am grateful to be in a moment where no matter what time I enter the social networks, people are proud of Venezuela as a country and as a soccer team. You have to understand me, because despite everything that has happened, I have been very patriotic for as long as I can remember, I am happy to be able to share with almost anyone around me that passion for the national team, that love for the country. It is a hard feeling, in the game against Jamaica the stadium was full of Vinotintos, and it feels bittersweet, it feels good to think about the unity that the national team has given to the country and to the migrants, to that hope and faith that they have even though some may say that it is "bread and circuses", but at the same time it feels sad to see how because of the situation of the country Venezuelans are so far from their home, so dispersed; however, with the Vinotinto they have found another way to reconnect with their home, with their culture, with their faith.
